Cheers Ian,
I know that 1C pride themselves on catering for the "hard-core" and/or online enthusiasts but am hoping that they will also cater for the likes of myself and others that share my level of interest. So far the interface looks "workmanlike" and clean and not very immersive but hopefuly there's a long way to go. I think that it'll probably be the best online WW2 air combat sim when it comes out but reserve a little hope that it'll also shine offline and in the offline immersion stakes where, IMO, neither IL-2 or CloD did.

You'll pay more for the release in Spring, so cost doesn't matter since everyone paid less now than they would 7 months down the road.
No one paid more, everyone paid less for early access. That's my attitude too. I'm bummed I can't use the Tues-Thurs thing because of RL commitments, but it was good value as a preorder, and when it opens up, we'll still get it earlier than the gold release. H

Leigh 777 already have a very decent semi dynamic historical career mode working in their other product Rise of Flight. It generates missions for your squad, some you fly in some you don't. As you progress you and your mates get promoted, promotion gives you access to mission planning. the ROF version has real world weather, so if the morning flying was scrubbed due to poor weather on 1st of March 1918 then it will also be in game. I'd imagine that we'll see a version of this in BOS.

Jason said today they are thinking of opening up a different time period, didn't say what or when, it might help you Master.

I didn't realise the alpha was time limited? What's the reason for it?

Except the later date package does not include early access.
Let me put it this way. I paid extra for the premium access SOLELY for early access which I now cant use.
We wont agree on this. So you would have rather paid $100 in a few months - got it.

It's actually mentioned in one of the earlier dev diaries, someone asked a question about limited access and it was stated there would be a possibility.

I didn't support the sim for the early access or rewards. I wanted to support our genre. I could care less about the rewards, but the early access is definitely a bonus.

Maybe they should have just let us walk around the hanger and look at the plane like Star Citizen does, because nobody complains about that.
Dammit!!

The interface is a placeholder at present. Will be different. I don't think it will be much different, though. The RoF interface is okay, as was IL-2:1946, and I don't see them putting much more bells and whistles on it. While I appreciate the Pixel Hunt crew that want to click on a picture of a radio to edit sounds (I like to call it the Myst interface), I'm pretty certain we won't have to put up with clunky "immersive" menus. On whether or not it was worth it, to me I guess it was. Early access was a bonus for me, and it's a double bonus that the days it's available also happen to be my days off - if they were agreeable to Master, we'd be switching attitudes in our posts! However, I'm really hoping they open up the days available soon; it would be nice to plunk into the sim on the odd day I have a few extra minutes.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."
