Of course it was worth it... Otherwise I would have been paying $95.. I was going to buy BoS regardless.. so my thinking was $90 now or $90+ later.. It was a no brainer.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

Mixed feelings for me personally as stated in another thread. It's my own shortcomings that keep me from being blown away by it. But it is impressive for what's there, that's for sure.
I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

It reminds me of the IL2 "leaked" early beta years ago. Not much content but I can't stop playing it, I'm at work now, thinking about firing up the Lagg again when I get home. And of course this is only going to get better

You'll pay more for the release in Spring, so cost doesn't matter since everyone paid less now than they would 7 months down the road.
No one paid more, everyone paid less for early access.

No one paid more, everyone paid less for early access. In the spring when the game is release there wont BE any early access. So how can I have paid less for something that wont exist down the road? The standard and premium packages will be less yes but really I only bought the premium for early access which I now cant use. So I DID pay more for early access right now that I cant use. So is it worth the extra price (regular with spring access vs premium with early access) I say no because I cant use my early access.

It costs $100 in 7 months for the same package, that's more with any math you can possibly use.
You paid for the premium package, which included slightly earlier access - but if you paid for the standard package, you get slightly later earlier access minus two planes.
There is no extra price if the price is more for the same package at a later date, or if the package that costs less at the current time offers less content.
It's quite the spin to say you paid for early access when the features included and the cost comparison for identical packages at time of early access pre-order are the same features (actually less features if you wait till Spring) AND it still costs less for the pre-order than it will at any other time.
You paid less than you ever will until a year or so after the Spring release.

Hi folks,
From a purely personal perspective and given my interests I'm not sure if having early access is very much of interest to me. I'll probably get more interested as things develop, when they get to the stage of implementing elements such as combat, hopefully an immersive offline campaign and more FM difficulty level features to suit my tastes.
This isn't meant to take anything away from the game, I think it is looking very good and will be a hit and I don't, for one sec. ,regret paying out the money if only to aid development and get payment done and out of the way. As it stands right now there's not much of personal interest in there as yet as I'm not really into flying one plane type around or learning about CEM.
Kind regards
Aces

Aces Hi Leigh, Can you do the cross wind landing? Can you do it the other way (wind from the right) which is harder? If not, flying one type of plane around is surely worth it. Who wants to come back from a successful mission killing Stukas only to cartwheel on the runway? ian

Hi Ian, Hope you're well mate, I used to be able to do a cross wind landing years ago but not really bothered about it too much when I've turned off the wind setting . That side of things has never been my interest, in fact anything mechanical has never been of interest and that includes aircraft, flight models, CEM and such. I'm looking forward to having a blast and some fun and I think it will be fun providing that they include an offline campaign mode and non-cem etc.. Of course my personal idea of fun is just that, "personal", "one man's meat is another man's poison" as the old saying goes and that's not intended to take away anything from those with differing tastes, nor is it in any way intended to detract from the game which I hope and think will be a worth successor to IL-2 at last. The original question was "is it worth the cost of early admission" and, as I've mentioned, for me the answer probably is a no at the moment but then that depends on how you define price, I think the end-product will be well worth the asking price but the features that would make it so for me aren't implemented yet so I'm getting a different product until such time but I'm perfectly happy putting it on the shelf until such time. Take care mate Cheers Leigh
