I bought this game on release and shelved it soon after due to the well known issues. I kinda forgot about it and never really came back to it until now. Anyway, I've installed the latest TF mods but I'm still having issues with the UI.

-Is there any way to get anti-aliasing working properly to remove jaggies? I've tried in-game, forcing it through AMD CCC controls, and forcing SMAA to max with SweetFX but the jaggies are still really bad.

-How do I change the Axis side from Italian to German in the even dogfight quick mission? I select German planes for the AI to fly but they still sport Italian markings.

-How do I customize my plane in the same quick missions? I can select type of plane but I always get the same squadron (City of Poznan) with the same markings and call-sign if I use a Hurricane.

-How do I edit AI skill levels for quick missions? When I try to create a low-level dogfight quick mission, 1/2 the AI pilots slam into the ocean every time.

A lot of people use a utility called SweetFX to sort out the jaggies. With regards to your other questions all of that stuff can be sorted out through the Full Mission Builder I believe. Get yourself over to the ATAG forums http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6 and you'll have your problems sorted in a jiffy.

Thanks. I've tried SweetFX but it still looks really rough even with things maxxed.

So, no way to get things working in the quick mission builder? That sucks.

If you updated to TF mod v 4.0 then this is due to a bug in that mod. Until it is fixed you need to go back to mod 3.1 if you want to enjoy single player.

It is taking a long time to fix.

CloD™ Quick Mission is only "quick mission" not a Quick Mission Builder like in il-2:'46.*

In this missions you can't do more changes that time of day, clouds types, clouds high, select side and any flyable plane - but with default configurations (fuel, ammo, skins).

These missions are stored in folder not accessible for FMB (Full Mission Builder).
Planes default config used in QM seems stored in game code...

To edit the QM mission you need copy the from

...:\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover\parts\bob\mission\Quick

For

...:\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD (if use TF patchs)\missions

To avoid confusion is advisable create a new folder inside \missions.

After edited any these mission place the in

...:\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD(if use TF patchs)\mission\quick

Each mission have 4 filles.

mission name.mis
mission name.briefing
mission name.jpg (tumbnail scren for mission)
mission name lg.jp (main screen for mission)

Yes, after a while you just learn to live with them. Until we get BoS or DCS (and let's see what they are like) this is the best prop c-sim there is!

How can i assign the War Emergency Power (WEP) function for a BF109-E3 to the throttle-axis?

Spit/Hurri boost is possible active/deactivate with axis (if BCC valve are OFF) by adjusting in game throttle 100% in ~95% of joystick throttle course - the last 5% course active/deactivate boost, in similar way to real one.

But for Bf.109 (E3) I could not set the WEP ON/OFF on axis.

Game allow set:

On axis

"Throttle war emergency power" - moving the axis engage WEP (ATA 1.4) if joystick throttle are in 100% - but this dont can't be mapped on same axis used for throttle, need a exclusive axis, so is senseless...

On keys

"Throttle war emergency power"

Pressing the assigned key the throttle in game jump to 100% (ATA 1.3) - regardless of joystick throttle position, if you touch joystick throttle in game throttle move back to match joystick throttle position...
I dont find this useful, since instead press a key I can just move joystick throttle to 100% (ATA 1.3).

"Toggle war emergency power"

Pressing the assigned key the WEP is activated (ATA go to 1.4 if joystick throttle are in 100%) an remain for ~ 1 minute. After this time you can active WEP again pressing the key.

Eventually I managed to trick the game and assign the same axis used for throttle (Z) for "Throttle war emergency power".

The trick is use one key together axis, in case "I".



But... blush still useless, even setting 100% deadzone for this axis, the WEP is activated around 70% of joystick throttle course, in both directions... cuss
