Last night (before this fix I think) was getting lots of lag even with a good 40 ping on a 32 player hard core crouch map. Played same server/maps two days ago and it was great. No lag at all and what I aimed at I hit. Last night was like playing in molasses. Aim at a target, fire and saw the target instantly warp 5 feet to the side. Hope things go back to some sembalence of normal tonight.

Battle packs are sets of upgrades. The points battle packs have generic stuff like laser sights and weapon sites that you may or may not find useful at the momemt. The gun battle packs have upgrades for the associated weapon you are using. They also have points bonus upgrades (25%/50%/100%) to help get your score up. They are 'perks' per other games.

Fixed by unplugging my joystick which is strange because it's been plugged in since day one of release. Now I will have to fly with the mouse confused

*edit* And now my first crash. It's all going so well. nope

got the problem with the joystick too. Just unbind the foot's actions from the joystick, should resolve AND be able to fly with the stick

I played about 7 hours yesterday with my friend. I was on my PC (with and AMD6950) and he was on my laptop(with a Nvidia GTX770m). I had no crash but he got 3...

The other day though it was the opposite... so crashes seems to be random sigh

Question, did any of these updates happen to fix the INS and DEL keys not being able to bind.

A lot of us FPS fans don’t use the WASD layout. I personally shifted to the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT arrow key layout about 15 years ago. It keeps the keyboard out of the way of the mouse and it’s better for people with big hands.

Now you mention it so did I. Not sure why I didn't figure that one out straight away.
BF4 just hasn't grabbed me the way BF3 did so I am only playing every few days and one, maybe 2 maps a night.
Could be the maps,I haven't played them all yet.I need to find a few I really like. Hurry up with Caspian Border Dice!!

Played a few hours trouble free last night on one server. Getting close to logging off time. Someone online asked question in ALL concerning stability. I answered I was having no problems in a long session and joked that now that I mentioned it, BF4 would crash biggrin Guess what happened not 1 minute later?

neaner <----BF4

sigh <-----Me

It crashed big time.

I had a Lot of Micro stutters after this last server update. Why I don't know. I have not had any crashes though.
After a afternoon of working on the new stuttering issue , I found that is was a direct X issue.
It appears that Bf4 doesn't install all the direct X files. I went into the Bf4 folder and found the Direct X setup and ran that and all the stutters are gone ! Smooth as butter again on Ultra.

Desode

PS My current complaint is that it seems to me that on lots of the maps the flags are to close to each other for 64 players.

The crashes are rare for me so I'm lucky in that respect. My main issue is the sound cutting out to a point I can hear just a few distinct sounds: my own gun, the enemy nearby gun sounds and some vehicle weapons. Everything else gone- vehicle engine sounds, aircraft/helo sounds and just about all ambient sounds. Takes away much of the immersion and it's nearly pointless to play. But I'm loyal and patiently await fixes.

UPDATE #7 (Nov 12):
Server Update R8 rolling out
We recently deployed the R8 Server Update. It should be propagating throughout servers in the upcoming hours. You can find the change notes below.

R8 Update Notes:
*Fixed a number of dog tags that were showing up as blank in-game.
*Lowered the damage caused by Mobile AA Active Radar missiles to aircraft. The previous damage was incorrectly set too high.
*Improved server crash reporting and performance tracking on all platforms. This should further help us identify and fix server crashes going forward.

UPDATE #8 (Nov 12):
Client patch (PC)
The PC client patch for Battlefield 4 will go live in the near future and fixes a number of different issues you have helped us to identify, including a number of the most common crashes and freezes. We will get back to you with a full fix list and a specific date for this update soon.

Maintenance downtime (All platforms)
Nov 13, we have a planned maintenance starting at 9AM UTC/1AM PST. The maintenance will last for 2-3 hours and multiplayer for Battlefield 4 will be unavailable on all platforms in increments during this window. This maintenance is done in preparation for the upcoming client patches.

Console Server Update (PS3/X360)
During the Nov 13 maintenance window mentioned above, we will roll out the latest server update for X360 and PS3. This server update will include the following fixes:
• Temporarily disabled the ”Indirect Fire” and ”Perimeter Defense” Field Upgrades on PS3 as they caused the game to crash when spawning. This is a temporary workaround while we work to solve the issue altogether.
• Fixed a number of dog tags that were showing up as blank in-game.
• Lowered the damage caused by Mobile AA Active Radar missiles to aircraft. The previous damage was incorrectly set too high.
• Improved server crash reporting and performance tracking on all platforms. This should further help us identify and fix server crashes going forward.

Upcoming console client patches (PS3/X360)
We are testing and finalizing upcoming client patches for PS3 and X360. We will be able to give you an ETA on these at a later date. You can always find the latest info in this thread.

Upcoming Live Scoreboard (PC)
We will introduce Live Scoreboards in the PC server browser on Battlelog in the upcoming days. It will let you see the current status in the ongoing round on a server before you join, such as the number of remaining targets in a round of Obliteration. We will be able to give you specific date on this feature soon.
