banghead I can't for the life of me find it. While on lunch break the other day, I heard a song on the I believe classic rock channel. Here are the only clues I can glean from my memory:

-It sounded to be from the late 70s to 80s
-It had a simple yet rousing tune
-To be honest, it almost had an anthem/country type rhythm to it
-lots of guitar
-male singer who almost shouted the lyrics
-the only lyrics that remain in my head are the lines "over and over and over again"
-I seem to recall the singer naming a name from history or the books. I can't remember. Robin Hood? Probably not.

I've searched google and found other people's request at finding a song with the lyrics "over and over" but none of the results match the song I heard.

Its aggravating the tar out of me. I really liked it but the station didn't say who it was!

That IS infuriating!

It happened to me when I was driving home once.I went to the radio stations web-site where they had available the past few days shows.I knew roughly what time I heard it and just worked through until I found the song.

Is that an option for you? They may even have play lists available.

Just as a guess "over and over again" sounds like a 60's song called Eve of Destruction

The first thing that popped into my head was Brian Adams / Tina Turner...

"You can live without the aggravation
Ya gotta wanna win - ya gotta wanna win
You keep lookin' back in desperation
Over and over and over again"

I thought about it when you said, "Robin Hood" (Brian Adams did the love song for a Robin Hood movie).

EDIT: Oops, the title "It's Only Love",

Ok.

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in
Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run

This one is older than what you were guessing...

Edit: Some disturbing imagery, so sensitive folks may not wish to watch it.

No historical names, but definitely historical references.

The lyrics aren't the same...so it might be a stretch, but a semi-shouting male singer with rock anthems, sound like the Foos to me.

If you have a smart phone, there's an app called Shazam that can ID songs by listening to it. But it needs wifi or 3g as it transmits data in order to do so.
