Seems there has been a few patches for BF4 in the last days. How the performance and bugs?

No patches that I've seen. Performance is great but it's the constant crashes they need to fix.

I have heard about the crashes. I think I will wait one more week to see it some of these crashes are fixed then pick it up. Its a circus to find out anything over at the EA forums.

I've seen a lot of complaints but have only being kicked off a server once in about 12 hours of playtime.

The crashes aren't unique to the PC version of the game. I've had them on the 360 as well.

There has been 4 or 5 server patches and it's getting better.
Overall lots of work to be done no doubt but it is playable
depending on the map.

Some crash more than others some have sound issues.

UPDATE #2 (Nov 3):
Fixing the server queues on PC
We're rolling out a server update on PC with a fix for the join queue. As this new server version starts to populate servers, you will notice that server queues on PC will be available again in Battlefield 4. Note that it might take some time before the majority of PC servers are equipped with this fix (up to 24h).

UPDATE (Nov 3):
Server crashes
We have identified an issue where the game server will crash and disconnect players, causing them to lose any stats gathered during that specific round. We have a fix in progress to address this issue in a server update and will let you know once it's ready to roll out.

EDIT:

UPDATE #3 (Nov 4):
Fixing server crashes
New server update (R6) was rolled out across all platforms to fix the most common server crash.

One fix I've noticed late last night is that after gaining a level and a new gun, I crashed out. Rejoined the server and while my score 'lost' the previous kills on the scoreboard, I still had the newly acquired rank and the gun upgrade.

Yes, have had semi-frequent sound issues. Often when getting in a vehicle there is no engine sound for several seconds. Also, when firing weapons there's no gunfire sounds.

This is on the 360, not the PC. But, these issues seem to be across all platforms.

Maximum PC had some interesting thoughts on their podcast this past week. Mainly what they found is that BF4 on PC will needs 6 logical threads (So that include hyper threading). They also found when they are running BF4 for the first time in a long time the CPU usage hits 100% and (I think) turning on V-Sync frees up like 10% of that overhead. But in any case what they found because it is running 100% for a long time OC'ed systems can start to show stability issues and heating related issues. So maybe that is where the crashes can be coming from and why some people have issues and others do not.

That is just a thought anyways. I know my OC's always gave me weird issues with some games more then others.

I've had the intermittent sound thing, as well as flashing patchwork ground textures that I think I've seen mentioned elsewhere.

Despite a handful of disconnects I've had only one actual crash, that was the very first time I ran it and tried to load the Test Range.

The CPU usage info is interesting. Will keep an eye on task manager next time I'm online.

Mine is similar and I have it running pretty much maxed out.

EDIT: oh wait, is your CPU one of those 'K' ones?

No not a K version. If you specs are right, you have the 920. I have the daddy 975. These are from the good old days when you didn't have to pay for that special cpu. I run BF3 on ultra with no problems. I even after they fixed the BF4 beta ran it very well. Its just I keep reading about this and that with bugs, so not for sure whats going on with the game. I tried to find out more over at the BF4 battlelog forums, but many are just really mad over there.

You'll have no problems running it if that's what you are concerned about?

I haven't had any sound problems (Realtek onboard) but certainly the odd crash in-game and pretty much locks up everytime when loading the next map.
