Hey guys, I know we had talked about playing some arma soonish. This afternoon/Evening, Brennus and I are planning to get some Arma 3 in and any and all are welcome to join. As an FYI there is also going to be the Iron Front Saturday taking place on the SimHQ server starting at 3PM Central, that will go for a couple of hours, and then afterwards there will more than likely be a group sticking around for some arma 3. I intend to join up with the iron front group and then afterwards switch over to arma. Again, any/all are welcome, its always a good time

I may be on later tonight, but tomorrow night should work for me. Is this something the MWO guys are interested in doing on the weekends? I started up the campaign last night to get used to the controls again, has been a while. Is the plan to meet up on the MWO channel, or just watch for people you know up in the Arma channel?

Probably not going to be on today or tonight. We've been doing the soccer thing since this morning. Now wifey and I are making a run for it and the night will end with me with a beer in my hand on a porch somewhere.

Indeed! That was tons of fun, I'm planning on being there for serious sunday and/or domination afterwards today. Messing around with the mission this morning found some fun stuff that would have been good to know last night.
hold "u" down and it brings up the domination command menu. you can use it to change your view distance, switch groups between players if needed, change grass settings, and review side missions and the main area side mission (there was another one that is not marked the we needed to complete)
It also has an artillery interface that anybody can use to drop artillery without the arty vehicles, but there is like a 5 minute wait between strikes.
You can also call in an air dropped ammo box or hunter, which parachutes in where you need it, takes a couple of minutes though, and you can call an air taxi, an AI ghosthawk that will fly you back to the base.
also at the register next to the ammo box back at the base, you can recruit an AI team to go with you if you want to increase our presence on the ground, upto 4 per player I think.

You will not find me on serious Sunday. I have a feeling that it is dominated by the same guys who forced me to use push to talk for a month. I am just not that serious.
Why so serious.

Why so serious. Not wanting to hear everyone's breathing and speaking to their family in the background has nothing to do with the ARMA nights, push to talk is required by most people not wanting to hear that.

I think voice activated allowed works well for us on the MWO channel because there's a bunch of us who are on regularly and make sure we don't have background noise ourselves and we call it out if someone has it going on... that might not work so well on some of the other channels that have less regular participation or people willing to call it if it's happening But I'm guessing that was said in jest more as a worry that most of us who play MWO regularly and might try joining the Arma3 SimHQ games, are not hardcore enough to fit into the SimHQ "Serious" play sessions, either because we are too new or because we aren't following strict military protocol or radio discipline... Hopefully the worry is for naught and Arma3 will be a good diversion for us regular MWO players.
