Hi

I just spent 4000 euros in a new flightsim computer, running under Windows 7 Pro 64 bits

The problem is that the joystick of the Warthog system is not recognized by Windows. It appears correctly in the devices list, but does not appear in TARGET, nor any simulation, but the Throttle does.

To make things worst, when trying to update the joystick firmware, I get this warning:
error timeout device should have arrived in HID, code 0x34100002

I also have firmware problems with my old HOTAS Cougar in this same computer. Now the Cougar joystic is also dead.

I am very very VERY frustrated, as I have tried all the tricks in the book, plus some new ones, and do not work at all. Also the Bootloader method recomended by TrhusMaster is useless.

Any Ideas?????
Maybe should I try another operating system????
Maybe is the motherboard????

I feel as I have thrown away very hard earned 4000 euros. Now this computer makes no sense for me anymore.

Thank you

Have you tried a different USB port?

Don't lose hope! I would think most people now would have Win7 64-bit considering how cheap it is and how cheap RAM is these days. I have Win7 Home 64-bit and TM WH myself and no problems.

Try a different port. Try the HOTAS on a different computer, maybe bring it to a friend's house or something. A rare chance is that your WH may be broken, so you'll need to get it replaced. If the WH works on a different computer, then at least we know your HOTAS is working and the problem lies elsewhere.

And do tell what other methods you have tried.

I have tried all ports in the computer, plus a socket plugged USB hub.
I have tried all computers at home, this one with windows 7 64 bits, the old flightsim system with windows XP Home edition, the new laptop with windows 7 hoem edition, etc. No use either.

I have tried rebooting, installing, reflashing, etc... Always got the code 0x34100002.
I have been told by ThrustMaster to send proof of purchase for a new HOTAS, but I bought this unit during my divorce, two years ago, under antidepresive treatement, and I do not remember where is the invoice for this purchase. So unpleasant and confusing times...

As I see it, it is obvious that I will have to buy a new Warthog.
Maybe switching to windows Vista or XP.... reducing the 64 Mb of RAM to the maximum admited by the other operating systems ????

I really would do appreciate any help on this matter

Have you explained the situation to TM re: invoice? If you've purchased this two years ago, has it not been working ever since? It might be hard to prove that you've bought this two years ago but only plugged it in two days ago.

Still, give the TM support a fair go. I once bought a second-hand Cougar and needed new pots and switches, I explained the situation to them and they sent me the parts for free.

At the very least, TM may point you to one part that needs replacing and this will cost much less than a new Warthog. Also, did you purchase the WH from a physical, brick & mortar store or online? If online, chances are there is a copy of the invoice in your email. Last resort would be to contact the store/seller and see if they have a backup copy they can give you.

Good luck!

If it's of any assistance whatsoever, I got a quote from TM about 6 months ago for the base section of the joystick that holds all circuit boards etc. I presume your throttle is fine, and that the handle section is OK as far as you're aware?

If that's the case, TM sell the base section for £150, so approx 180 Euros.

I have been looking for the invoice, but no luck.
INVOICE, WARTHOG, SIPPING, etc. give no good results. A buch of junk from ebay, thats all.

I usually buy from SIMWARE, but this particular unit comes from somewhere else, and I never bought from them again.

I was planning in replacing the integrated circuit, but replacing the center section is a very nice alternative. Thank you.

Will you explain, please?

I did remove the base from the heavy metal plate once, just for trying measurements for a new cockpit.

with 4 screws to the base, if u took the base plate out and reinstall, make sure the screw goes through ground lug.

As for the invoice issues, did you buy it online? If so if you can find the retailer maybe they can provide some proof of purchase or you can look through your old emails......

Any case thats pretty depressing for that not to work, I don't know what I'd do without mine!

I've got a bad feeling about this.....

[b]You are not alone.

I have the exact same problem.

It's just not working....

Considering selling as a broken item now.
