I had to laugh at the Me163 impeller. Back in the '70's i had a family visit to the IWM and my Dad confidently told me exactly the same thing....

I was with a group walking around the Imperial War Museum in the early seventies, before part of it moved to Duxford.

As we loitered around the Me163, one of them remarked that the tiny impellor on the nose (which actually drove an electric generator to back up the limited battery for the radio, Revi gunsight, cannon circuits and several other things) was an emergency propeller which powered the aircraft when the rocket fuel ran out.

I didn't even bother.

Was it an HD Rift and which game? Did they let you calibrate for your IPD?

It was the Dev Rift, and not sure what the IPD was. You stood there, hands on the keys, then they centred it, like a TrackIR. I wont be getting one, not seeing my controls was a large downer, most people couldn't handle more than 30 seconds of using it before they wanted it off. Even after a minuet of using it it has lost it's centering.

My TrackIR also needs centering every few minutes but I have it bound to a joystick button so not a huge problem.
I'm sure that I heard that the Rift tracking will be better in the retail unit; the dev. unit is just to get people working on compatible software.

I didn't have a problem with centering and didn't feel I wanted to get it off my head to be honest even though it was like wearing a gas mask and you felt a bit of a prat in front of others but in your own room with decent software I can see it's potential.

As Fudge says the big problem is that it can only be used with a controller that you are familiar with because you are using it totally blind. A keyboard is out of the question.
