Not sure what you guys are complaining about... (would help to be more desciptive you know) I check out SimHQ and SimHQ Motorsports every day on my iPad and iPhone... one little ad isn't asking too much is it? of course I hate that sidebar they did, that we voiced against, but still it's there... go fiquer. I posted screenshots of what the popup banner adds look like in the other thread here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3826718/Re_SimHQ_the_iPhone_and_Chines#Post3826718 The normal ad at top of page is fine, but these are in addition to that one ad, they overlap the safari window at the bottom, and they pop up fresh after each window scroll... Very annoying, just be glad if you aren't getting them on your ipad somehow.

They're driving me insane, too. They used to at least have the little X that allowed you to close them, but that's now vanished and they're a permanent feature.
Definitely very, very annoying.

I use Apollo as my web browser, for web sites with annoying banner adds. The adds are completely gone when I use Apollo. It is a free to download from iTunes.

I think this issue lies on safari because I'm using different browser and I've not seen one ad that's obstructing the view.

It is really irritating. The banner sits at the bottom of the screen but it gets dragged up as you scroll because it can't load fast enough. It makes the site slow.
The whole concept seems to be to get you to click on it accidentally......

Hi is there any update on this?
Still seeing the annoying hover ads on my iPad2 both with Safari and Chrome browsers...
Thanks in advance for looking into how turn these off.

Yeah unfortunately it looks like they are still showing, screenshot here (the hover ad is at the bottom overlapping the submit buttons): Thanks again for looking into it.

Thanks for the recommendation Vadrin.
I checked out Apollo browser, and it seems to be getting around the hover ads by blocking all ads, which is a good worst case solution if SimHQ can't solve the problem, but I've always tried not to block ads here on SimHQ, since I know that's how they pay for the servers and bandwidth to provide us this SimHQ site by showing us the (normally unobtrusive) ads.
Hopefully if they can stop showing the extra annoying popup/hover ads I can keep supporting the site by not blocking all ads.
Good mobile browser alternative though, thanks for that.

we put some filters on the ad server, let me know if they are still showing... They've returned, worse than ever... The site is almost unuseable.

Yeah I've had to continue using that Apollo browser which blocks all ads... no other choice really for now it seems.
