Then click downloads and each mission to download has a description.

Unfortunately, mission designers do not always state in the summary (the text you see when scrolling through the list of missions) what vehicles you will be controlling, the terrain over which you'll be fighting, etc.

It's impossible to say what missions you "must" have in your collection. It's too subjective. I prefer missions where you control only a small number of vehicles. It seems like most designers like to "go big."

If you like the M1 series, some smaller missions that come to mind right away are GaryOwens' "Camp Hornfelt" series, Zipuli's "Tank Platoon in the Attack (M1A1, winter)" and <shamelessPlug> my own "Platoon Tactical Movement - Ft Knox 1 - M1A1" </shamelessPlug>

Also, the "Tanks ProPE" scenario is a good one for learning how to operate a single vehicle tactically.

I believe all of these missions are located somewhere on this page: Steel Beasts website

I recommend starting with the stock missions that get installed with SB Pro PE in the "Scenarios" folder (note that it's not the default location "My Scenarios"). "Classics" and "Scenario Contest" winners are probably not a bad choice in any case.

You need "73 Easting" in your missions folder. Pre-planned routes, simple mission, Abrams in the desert. Lots of fun.

Went to sb.com and got 1985 North German Plain. I don't see any scenario folder. Is it hidden?

I'm renting SBP 3.0 for $9 per month. Surprisingly, it runs well on my ancient laptop. The DL and install was quick and seamless. I love the dongle-free version. Thanks.

You mean the scenario folder on your computer?
There are two (see chapter 2 in the user's manual, the section about file structure). Typically you would want to download the scenario file into My Documents\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\My Scenarios\... (create any subdirectory that you want), map files go into different directories as they are part of the shared assets among multiple user accounts.

And to add, most missions are unlocked, so if you find a great mission using a LEO, you can open it in the editor, and simply swap out to the tank you want, ie: M1A1

hossa18 - when you download North German Plain 85 it is a .rar file. .rar is a type of .zip file and you have to use a program to open it. inside you will find the .sce mission file.

is this the mission you downloaded? http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/268/p13_fileid/2071

I use 7-zip to open .rar files. http://7-zip.org/

Don't want to beat my own chest or anything... winkngrin Not M1s but it still gets you thinking about what can screw you over.

At some point I might make an M1 mission along similar lines.
