If you are playing MWO, hop on to the SimHQ teamspeak Mech1 or Mech2 channel so we can see that you are on. I will usually get on TS even if I am by myself and often within a short period of time, more players will show up and we will form a group. There are a lot of names on the handle list and it's far easier to add players once we encounter them in TS rather than going through the list and sending "add to friends" requests to a bunch of people who may no longer or rarely play the game, or who aren't online at the time to respond.
Even just a group of two on teamspeak working together is a huge force multiplier over dropping solo. Target spotting, focusing fire, and general support is invaluable.
More pew pew, dakka, wub wub, and woosh = more fun.
On an aside note, after experimenting a bit, I am convinced that if the NEWER player starts the group, the ranking of the opponents tends to be skewed toward the newer player as well; conversely if a veteran player forms a group and has 1 or 2 new players join the group, then may be overwhelmed by playing against long time players with fully customized mechs, with all the pilot skills maxed out, and just generally more stick time in game. Something to keep in mind, so as to not discourage new players who might get steamrolled by more experienced players. It's certainly aggravating to be killed in a brand new assault mech by a spider and a jenner who have been playing the game for a year.

+1 to this. I should also be on more regularly after my renfest mancation this weekend. See ya'll next monday night. Another thing to keep in mind, if you see 4 of us on and think you can't join, come out anyway. We are having a good bit of success sync dropping in the same game (usually against each other... ). We also swap out teams regularly. S P.S. Ask Kludger how many times I have saved his butt...

Last night was a wake up call for me, never saw those tactics in my ELO bracket.

I'll usually get on TS even if solo'ing. We were discussing it one night that we have a tendency to watch the SimHQ TS server list on the home page rather than checking the game for players. If I'm not on TS it's just a bad time for comms for me or I'm not going to be on long. Otherwise I'll be on there. I would imagine the search takes into account if we're a group and puts us against other groups as much as possible. Tuesdays are always hard regardless. LOL As said above, don't sweat being that #5 or #6 player. The more the merrier. If we've been on a while someone will usually volunteer to do the sync drop so you get the squad experience too. I expect to be on more often again, it just might be a little late most nights.

P.S. Ask Kludger how many times I have saved his butt... No lying I would be toast often if not for my SimHQ buddies saving my bacon @bogusheadbox I see you online on TS early afternoon my time and unfortunately at that time my daughters and wife are still up and so I can't usually play without interruptions enough to join you on TS, but hopefully one of these days I will get to join you again.
