Nice work!
Do you really want to go with the waterfall display? I guess it is hard to get this right.
I personally would be totally happy with some kind of submarine CO role, hence i don´t sit in the sonar both i only get the information and make decisions based ob these informations like in RSR.
Keep it up!
Do you have any idea which timeline you are angling for? Being able to choose from the early 1960ies to the late 1980ies would be a blast imho!

Yes, the waterfall display and Narrowband is a must...because I need them also for validating the sim engine and the AI...I do not fine tune them now, so I will leave the broadband station and only do fixing of sim-breaking bugs .
Active sonar station I will not implement for the first version...as well as an Active Intercept station...since this can easily be depicted on the tactical displays.

Concerning the time range: I think this is more a database issue...It would not be of much effort to include older timelines...currently I have the 80's in focus.

BTW: Do you have feedback what you do not like concerning the waterfall display ?

Wow. The waterfall display looks great, but is it done in a generic DW style, or is it an authentic 688 sonar display?

It is generic, but I think the inclusion of different frequency bands make it a little more realistic.

Hi,

tried to leave a comment at your blog but for whatever reason my comment isn't shown. Whatever, will follow this as I mentioned before. May be I will try to get it to work with Wine at a later stage.

An updated Red Storm Rising type/depth game would be awesome. I still play RSR on my laptop with DOSBox... No, not exactly Dangerous Waters, but loads of fun nevertheless..

I also still play RSR on an Amiga emulator smile....It is a true classic and it does not show any age...
