This Thursday is "Training".

One of the guys asked to focus on some fundamental troop and/or section fire and movement.

So we will look at “best practice” use of a dismounted infantry platoon with tank support (?), to clear a small urban objective.

As always, visitors / first timers are welcome.

Four people in attendance.

Did some low level Armour Infantry Co-operation

An Infantry Platoon supported by a Tank clearing an enemy from an urban area.

Quotable quote: "A beer full of fridges".

Next week is "TEWT Night", where I believe the topic will be either:

a. The subsequent action to this one, involving the rest of the Company, or

b. A re-run of the 1986 Fulda Campaign scn2-627.sce (last played in the H2H round) but as a TEWT.

Should be able to post some detail after the Tuesday night deadline.

So 202 people have looked at this but no replies.

I presume then that there is no interest in users, here at SimHQ at least, for a virtual unit based in Aust / NZ?

I wont clutter here with any additional posts but will constrain myself to the dedicated Steel Beasts forum itself.

Hi Gib, If "we" get anyone at SimHQ from ANZ asking about a VU, we'll point them your way.
(But then they probably know about SB.com anyway. smile )

Its not the bullet with your name on it you have to worry about.
But the one addressed:

Sorry it wasn’t meant to be “elitist”.

That particular night (being the first one in September) we did training but we have a four week cycle:

Training
TEWT (people come up with a plan to solve a problem and we fight it to see how it goes).
H2H
Multi Player

Member’s Choice - on those months that have five Thursdays.

As no one had responded I didn’t want to spam the forum with a post every week outlining the different activities.

Anyway if people are interested there are weekly entries on the SB Forum about:

1. A reminder about the upcoming event
2 An AAR of what we did.

I occasionally train with the guys there a friendly bunch.
Unfortunately there start time is early morning for me and RL gets in the way
If you want to learn how to use SB i would recommend them or any of the other virtual SB units.
The SB community are a friendly bunch.

If you're driving a tank, it's much easier to remain calm and friendly. People outside are always ... so polite. smile
