I think they are a bit too condensed. Like the Robin Olds one. My god, you could fill 6 hours of show with just him alone. Agreed. But nevertheless, programming that actually has some decent realism and historical basis.

OK I saw nearly all of them; what did you guys think of the shows & their portrayal of such iconic figures as Doug Bader & George Beurling? I was actually surprised that there were some producers of these programs out there today who knew who George Buerling was. If you look carefully, you'd notice all the doccos were made in Canada. What did you think about the Buerling segment? My understanding was he was a hell of a pilot but a bit quirky as a person & tough to get along with. And for Doug Bader, well...what can you say about a man who lost his legs in a flying accident but by sheer force of will taught himself to fly again? Oh and they even mentioned his good friend 'Sailor' Malan, as well.

I haven't seen the Beurling segment yet but I will be looking for it. And yes, I agree with your assessment of character. I understand he wasn't much of a team player and liked to do things on his own.

This was shown on BBC first under the name Heroes of the Skies in 2012: "Lord Ashcroft, KCMG tells the stories of the most heroic airborne combat missions in history" http://www.channel5.com/shows/heroes-of-the-skiesIf you want to find them via torrent, look for "War Heroes of the Skies".

Well made, but Lord Ashcroft's intermissions are unnecessarily dramatic and annoying as hell.
(Not to blame him, but geez, why do the makers always have to do this?)
Also nice to see that the CGI directors are getting better. "Dogfights" was awful in that regard.
