Hey gents, question here. Apparently the last steam update has corruptrd my steam installation and of course now I can't open clod.Go figure just when the TF guy's are getting this sim squared away. Anyway when I try to start clod or Steam itself all I get is the updating steam/ verifying installation box flashes for about 1/2 sec and that's it. nothing.Anyone else encounter this? If I delete and reinstall steam will that delete Clod as well? I hate to think about going through reinstalling clod and going through all the updating dance again.Especially when I believe Steam is the problem. any advice?? I've googled around and got some idea's but I trust the guy's on these forums more. Thanks for any help

If you can get Steam back running, you should be able to verify your COD installation in Steam, and it will correct any issues. Steam always installs the sim to the latest patch, unless you already have a Team Fusion patch installed, if that's the case you would have to reinstall the TF patch separately.

Well got it sorted, If it's of help to anyone else what I did was move my steamapps folder to a safe place then deleted and reinstalled Steam, I then replaced my steamapps folder with the one I saved, Steam verified clod and as Chivas said had to reinstall the TF patches and now back in business.

Not for sure, but I think you need to turn off Cliff of Dovers "auto-update" in Steam if your running the TF-Mod. Cause everytime Steam updates and checks the CoD files, it see the Mod as bad files and over writes them......

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but that is most likely why your CoD stopped working....

If you don't like me, You can do one, of two things, deal with it, or get the heck out.

I don't think you'll have to worry about the auto-update thing. When you install CloD, Steam will update it to the latest version, which was the last official patch Luthier and the boys released on their way out the door some time ago, so there shouldn't be anymore. Then, after installing to the latest version of TF, you should be good-to-go.

Steam will autoupdate COD to the last developers patch. Once you have the Team Fusion patch installed over the Steam install, Steam will not automatically overwrite the TF patch, unless you ask Steam to verify your install.
