Any ideas why my system is showing resources available and yet my FSX install is like a slide show around big airports (eg Heathrow) or even above cities (eg London).
My specs are
Windows 7 64bit
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz
8GB RAM
Gigabyte GTX460 768MB
I do have REX and TrafficX running.
I know it's not a super fast system - but as I said, GPU and CPU cores seem to have some punch left...except the first core which made me think it was only running on one core - but all 4 cores are ticked in Affinity.
Also - I am upgrading my system next October but in the interim I was thinking about getting a 2GB GTX660 - do you think that might help?
In game I am using
Graphics1680x1050 32bit

Are there any things I could do (apart from dropping all the graphics) to get better FPS?
Looking at my settings I could probably drop some stuff - but what are the best things to turn down that would have the biggest effect of increasing framerate but without dropping graphics quality too much?
And again - do you think a GTX660 would impact it much?
Thanks so much for any help.
