Yeah, waiting for mine from Amazon. Hoping it may arrive Monday. If they already have them and the game cannot be played until it is unlocked on Steam I don't know why they never send the games out to avoid any lateness.

Amazon here too. I have a "Prime" account and for TW games in the past they have always overnighted it to arrive on release day.

Anyway, I got my Gladius and Imperial Italic "D" helmet ready plus a few fighting "manuals".

Prettiest Roman helmet ever made IMHO.

Cheers

Mine is being 'sourced' from Amazon. Starting to wish I spent the extra £3 and kept my order with Amazon.

Now that Sir is a good looking helmet!

I just got one myself and yours looks signifcantly nicer... and I dare say more expensive! Where did you get it from?

Thanks, I got it on EBay from an armor seller for $205 delivered. He has some real nice Gallic models in the $150 range. Most of the on-line armor sites were 20 to 30% higher.

The helmet is made by Deepeeka in India. They make all kinds of armor and have a complete line of Roman helmets that are quite accurate according to the re-enactment groups. This model is copied from one excavated at an old Roman fort site near Mainz, Germany.

Here's a link to the seller: http://stores.ebay.com/Armor-Venue?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

The Gladius is also from India and was a budget model at $55, but it was also recommended on one of the re-enactment sites as a cheap starter. I don't plan on re-enacting, but the groups that do have very informative on-line sites with lots of recommendations along with what to avoid.

I always get a hat, helmet, and/or weapon to go with whatever game I'm playing--especially the TW stuff. I got loads of helmets, swords, cannons--some originals, but most repro's. I'm retired now and can afford to spoil myself with such stuff (grown up toys). If I get a chance I'll post pics of the Japanese, Napoleonic, and medieval stuff.

Cheers

Hey FO, Thanks very much for the info.

I had been reading up on the various types of helmets and went for a very basic one from a company from Germany. On my research I had come across the name Deepeeka. I guess a lot of retailers are selling their stuff.

I liked the look of the helemt and even my wife was pretty pleased by the price ( £55 so maybe $85 ) though looking at yours I wished I'd upgraded somewhat wink.

Thanks also for the link, man they have some cool stuff on there!

Please upload your other bits of kit, would really like to see some other "boys toys" smile and think its a great way to spend your retirement! Enjoy!!!

Lovely helmets and sword, they are the iconic Roman helmets, never liked the later period ridge helmets.

No helmet for me but just having a look round HMV today and bought a 6 DVD History Channel set called Rome: Rise and fall of an empire. Only £11 so snapped it up. Also got today a really nice book 'The complete Roman army' by Adrian Goldsworthy.

What do you think of the pics? I was looking at it on Amazon and a couple of teh reviews said that although the author was very good the illustrations werent so.

Was that hardbacked or softcover?

Cheers
