I just got my copy. First time playing any version of Flanker. Let's just say it will take me a while to get the hang of this. Good thing I got it though, or I would have been completely lost in LOMAC. Shepski's training missions are nice. I like the flight model already, very "fluid".

Now I just have to get the hang of not trying to click on the cockpit.

But the learning curve is pretty high I must say.

Oh yeah, works perfectly in XP. Didn't have to change a thing.

Once you get past the Russian exterior, it's your basic realistic flight sim under there, not unlike any other realistic flight sim. Everything works the same way, or nearly the same way, as in JF-18 or F4, except the displays look a bit different. Oh, the biggest difference is that missiles will always hit, so be prepared to avoid getting shot at.

Some are nearly impossible to evade (AIM-120's, S300's), others are pretty easy (AIM-9's, BUK's). All can be evaded at least some of the time.

Yeah, it'll take some time but I'll get the hand it, even with the pdf manual. But I must say, a clickable cockpit is a great security blanket to have like in JF-18.

But unlike the JF-18, the flight model is VERY different. Much less forgiving and predictable. I really have to FLY this thing rather then guide and let the FCS do the rest.

Oh, what's a good joystick configuration for the sidewinder precision pro 2. I'm really lost on that. edit:n/m got it from the ubi flanker forum.
