1 - What happened to CoH 2? I thought some of the UI enhancements were nice, minus the 'rank up' nonsense. Does anyone still play it? I thought the Blitzkrieg mod was better, personnally...

2 - Are there any modern mods for the Total War series? I saw a WW1 mod that has tanks. Why not modern?

Thanks

Anyone know if the Blitzkrieg mod is going to be developed for CoH 2?

Darlington, UK.
I played the demo of CoH 2 but just seemed the same as the first one. I hope TW never goes modern day.

Temporarily relocated to Brita...
I have COH 2, but I've pretty much stopped playing it except for the occasional skirmish. Not a bad game, but it is essentially just like the first one, and I can't really get past the "colorful" units that denote your side, or the fast pace (turns into a "Starcraft" button masher on multiplayer, and I hate that). Again, not bad, but it isn't really holding my interest anymore.

I'd have to agree with Mace as well, I can't say that I'd ever want TW to go modern-era. Much better (and I'd even go so far as to say it's now oversaturated) gaming platforms for it. The whole TW system revolves around the regiment being lined up, to include unit morale and "weight", so I can't see independant tanks and/or one/two man teams doing well.

Not really sure what you're asking here as CoH2 is exactly as promised. There were plenty of us who were hoping for changes, but there was never any indication from THQ or Relic, or SEGA, that CoH2 would be much of anything more than more CoH.....and, well, that's exactly what it is. This is what happens when gamers rave and gush over games - devs try and milk it!!

I meant more along the lines of the dynamic campaign that they have. It's wonderful.

For fans of modern era we dont have anything that nice. Wargame Airland Battle isn't really a dynamic campaign, and the campaign is pretty weak.

I think I was just hoping for something more. Again, I think the UI improvements are nice, but the whole grinding system is just horrible, and caters to the kiddies.

I think a growing number of us were hoping for something more.....unfortunately, not enough to make a difference. This is standard MO for Relic - make very pretty games and then churn out expansion paks and mission disks and new versions that are just more of the same. And as long as people keep buying their games, Relic will continue to make more of the same. This is the standard MO for many devs.
