http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/08/review-garmin-hud-is-sharp-functional-pricey/

I've always been hoping that manufacturers would add HUDs to cars. Garmin came out with a limited functionality (i.e., needs your smartphone to work) aftermarket HUD. I'm a bit disappointed with what's been offered. But it's a good step in the right direction. Maybe revision 3 or 4 will be what forces me to open up my wallet...

Payware GPS Test on the smartphone, a sticky pad under the wind shield and toggle it's HUD mode on.

Visibility in daylight depends on brightness of the display.

Does the Corvette and Citroen HUDs have navigation? biggrin

Actually, what I really need is Toyota or Honda to put one in their minivans. *sigh*

That Android app is neat... I'd probably need a huge phablet or something, though. The 4 inch screen on my Samsung Galaxy (original version) just sucks.

BMW HUD does have navigation (watch the whole video, because each feature is highlighted seperately):

They had a HUD in I believe a BMW ever since 1992. I remember because I was bummed out that someone did it before I got out of college to do it myself...

That only applies to the first generation iDrive, which was utter crap! The new one is actually very easy to use smile

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!
