Hi,
Well, a few things to get to multiplayer :
- the Flanker Multiplayer FAQ
- Hyperlobby , which is a room where you can meet other people (it works for a lot of flight sims). just downlaod the client, install it and creat an account for yourself befor connectting to the Flanker room.

Ok I've looked at the faq but it looks a little out of date.
I can't find the Airgroup thing to choose "me" for one thing.

Ha ... sorry, bad news then, but you can't play Flaaker in multiplyer through a router (nor Nat connection) \:\( .

The airgroup thing is the window when your select a flight path in the mission editor.

I've never succeeded in this. \:\(
Router NAT is OFF when I play.
But I'm Enjoying everytime in the JFA18.

All right guys another ? When you join to do a coop mission and use one of the missions from 2.5 folder. How does the client join your flight? Or does he have to add his own air group? Another words can the client join as your wingman?

Thanks

I certainly would not recommend to use offline missions (the ones already provided in Flanker2.5) to try to fly online. Flanker2.51 does have lots of online specific missions \:\( , so you have to be carefull when designing online missions to avoid those bugs.

Yes the other clients HAVE to add their own airgroup (or open a client mission which already feature his airgroup)

I alreay posted the rules to design non-buggy missions for Flanker2.51 un the Ubisoft Flanker forum. If I find that post, I'll copy/paste here.

OK, found the topic here \:D

==8<==============

A piece of advice in order to design coop missions for the 2.51 version :

1/ do not use the SAM external view, F7 key
2/ do not jettison weapons nor tanks, key ctrl w
3/ do not include IA flights with a loadout that they can jettison : namely fuel tanks, bombs and air-to-ground -or sea- missiles. BUT, fortunately, this is not valid for loadouts in internal bays, in the heavy bombers like the Tu22, B52 or even in the F117, because the IA does not jettison its weapons in internal bays. Hence, if you want to use some IA flights in an air-to-ground role, those IA flights can be fitted with rockets, or other weapons only in internal bays.
4/ do not use S13, S24 and S25 rockets against active SAMS

If the rules 1/ to 4/ are not respected, all the clients will experiment an "internal error" at the very moment when something forbidden, like jettisonning, happens.

5/ do not use composite SAM -that is, SAM with a separated detection radar, track radar, and launcher like the S300, Buk, Kub, Patriot, Hawk ...-. They can prevent the clients from connecting, or can produce clients disconexions during the mission. It might be possible to use those composite SAMs, above all if they are to be "treated" by SEAD flights before other aircrafts arrive ... but do this at your own risk ... 2.51 is buggy enough to add those "risks" IMHO. On the contrary, ships with long range SAMs do not cause problems.

6/ do not include IA flights with more than 2 aircrafts
7/ do not include a composite IA Airgroup, with a Ground Attack and an Escort for instance in the same Airgroup.

6/ y 7/ can produce a strange effect of IA lagging or disappearing, wich is very annoying when you are fighting in BVR agaisnt those super stealth IA

8/ for human flights beginning from the runway, do not use the "0" position if you plan to record a track, because the track won't play back correctly.

Well, I think that's all concerning the specifics bugs of the 2.51 version. But on top of that, you also have to take the same precautions than with the 2.03, such as not using to much IA, SAMS or flights, at the same time and the same area.

After connecting as a client, you have to add your own Airgroup (checking the "Me" case) to be able to enter in your cockpit. Read the Flanker Multiplayer FAQ ;\) (see the link before in this thread).

In multiplay of JFA18, Router is no problem.
From LAN to router
(I set client IP ADDRESS(local IP settled by DHCP) to public Server(distributed by ISP) address in DMZ page)
to modem connection.
It's okay.

In multiplay of Flanker 2.51, I'd not been see D/Ling Map Data till I've been connected directly to modem.
What's the problem I have...
I know problem is not depending on firewall in multiplay, it's not matter switching.

Thank you Sparfell for the FAQ, I've read, but once I've connect on, I can't set which side I get, it depend on host.
"Me" checking is I'm sure it can't checkmark when the other sides are for host, another players.

Couldn't get in cockpit though.
Or Does I have to add another my plane in map
whether host added in their plane and the other plane or not....maybe I was wrong...

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate yours.

By the way, why can not I get Host address smoothly, especially at Hyperlobby?

Everytime I can not get one slot IP number.

To make things clear, in case they are not : Flanker does NOT support multiplayer connection via router or NAT, that's sad \:\( but there is nothing to do, end of story

How is that possible ??? Sorry, I never heard of such a problem ... and don't know the solution \:\( .
Did you try connecting to the host with that incomplete IP (maybe it's only a display problem for the last 3 digits ???)

No,-) It's Example IP.
When I was launched with host in HL, it shows with disappeard only one colum (exp. 211.0.___.47, 211.___.0.47, 211.0.12.___).
And I don't have any idea for figure it out why getting IP includes "ZERO". -(

No big deal on the router... almost any router you can set up a host to be in the 'DMZ'. Just have your friend add his (internal) IP to the DMZ when you play.

This is just on theory... but almost anything works through routers and NAT as long as you have all the necessary ports open... anybody know what ports Flanker uses?
