My kids finally graduated from college this year. No more tuition bills for yours truly, so I treated myself today to a brand new 2013 Lexus GS 350 sedan!

I had to wait five years (one kid took an extra year to finish) to finally sit back and relax in a luxury car that no one else has ever owned:

Color: Meteor Blue Mica with light-gray leather interior
306HP, 277 lb-ft. torque
Paddle Shifters
Active Torque Control All Wheel Drive
Vehicle-Speed Sensing Power Steering
Bi-Xenon headlights with headlight washers
LED daytime running lights with auto-leveling
Heated and air-conditioned driver and passenger leather seats
Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob
Heated and telescoping steering wheel
Blind spot monitor
Windshield wiper de-icer
water repellent front door glass
Dual Zone climate control with smog sensor
Smart access keyless entry with push button start
Hard drive navigation system with 12.3 inch high-resolution split screen multimedia display
Nav traffic, Nav sports, Nav stocks
Intuitive Park Assist (front and rear)
Power rear sunshade
Three different selectable driving modes: Normal, ECO, and Sport

I also test drove BMW 535xi, Infiniti M37x, Acura's new RLX flagship, and Mercedes Benz E350. The Lexus came out on top (Bimmer was second). The Lexus was the best combination of plush, tech-filled interior and drive-ability. The Benz was soft and felt too heavy in the steering. The Acura had the most interior space but felt like an appliance. It also lacks all wheel drive. I liked the Infiniti but it had the highest center of gravity and is an ugly car in any color but black. Between the Lexus and the Benz it was a dead heat, so the tie-breaker went to reliability. German brands are notoriously unreliable compared to the better Japanese brands.

The combination of power and comfort level, with awesome tech to play with, is the best I've experienced up to this point in my life. I had to get it before I check into a nursing home in a few years.

I feel young again! smile

Who needs toupees? The cool thing today is to shave your head, grow a goatee with it and look badass. Even an old geezer like me. smile

How much are new ones?

I have a 2010 Garage kept GS 350 AWD with only 25,000 miles.

I wonder how much I can get for it.

Forget the toupe. It should come with a 21 year old blonde. Now THAT'S how you handle a mid-life cisis!

Thanks.

I've been thinking about selling it because we have 2 SUVs we use to carry our kids around.

In my mind, I had two choices: a car or a 25 year old girlfriend. My wife told me to get the car. She even drove me to the dealership to make sure that's where I went. biggrin

What?

Did you tell her you wanted a 25 year old girlfriend?

If you want to feel young you should drive a dilapidated old Corolla like myself and my mid-20s friends. The only friends who can afford nice cars who are young, are qualified doctors smile

Why waste your money when this is what you really want (be honest with yourselves): MidLifeBooster (A fancy car ain't gonna get it up...what with all the worry about car payments an' stuff...) wink
