...Third party release? I thought it was an ED release. If this is a third party release all I can say is wow! DCS set the bar high for third party releases. I like it!

Yep. Third party but released as one of their "DCS" level (high fidelity like the shark and A-10) aircraft. I'm also quite impressed, it merged into the game absolutely seamlessly and you can't tell the difference unless you go online and do a search.

Mulder: *throws her a file* Ever heard of the knife alien?

Yes it is. Pretty impressive for a Beta. Also, I am of the understanding they've done real well with purchases so far. This same team have plans to do (hopefully will work out) an Mi-8, A Cobra G, I believe the Loach and one other I cannot think of at the moment.

If the Huey is any indication of their future work, I pretty much trust BelsimTek to make whichever helicotper they want to.

The Huey is very good. It isn't finished yet and we're still missing a few features but it is a good challenge. I will admit though it started to get boring after a while; there's only so much it can do.

Yeah, it can be but I think it is because not too many missions have yet been made for it. I've been tinkering again with the mission editor and have made my first mission where I fly in bad weather from point A to point B. It is set just before dawn with a storm and rain front coming through. So visibility is not great but not too bad as well. Crosswind is present. The gist of the mission is you are to pick up the CO of a Forward Operating Base and his 2ic and transport them from one base to another. You are to use radio navigation to get to where you need to in bad weather flying. So far in testing it is quite challenging to fly and navigate in plus you get to use the radio equipment. I'm pretty much finished with it now and will begin working on some other missions I've been planning with the UH-1H.

I believe Belsimtek is actually an ED partner, not a 3rd party developer.

Damn, I always forget this is still beta. I enjoy it so much and can't wait to see what else they add.

Ah I just assumed third party since they are listed in the third party section of the ED forums.

If you need something to do, take THIS script, and add it to a Fast Action generated mission. Climb in your Huey and wait for a call...just don't expect to live very long. smile

I love flying the Huey but I do it sparingly, if only we had a Vietnam scenario, I wouldn't care if it's slicks medivac whatever, we need some jungle.

I have been keeping my eye on this one and what you said here ^^^ is very key to my wanting this.
Let's say that it would be what would make me HAVE to have it !

There isn't enough Vietnam Sim Goodness ! and that bums me out some times. frown
