Hi everyone I took this picture on Sunday at RIAT Fairford of Italian A.F C-27J,when I noticed some strange effects coming from the Props.Does anyone know what this is and how it happened?

Tip vortices caused by low pressure making water vapour in the air condense. Nice pics!

Yeah, it comes off anything where the pressure is low enough. I've seen them on a C-130 at Farnborough a few years ago. Always cool to see. Nice shot also :o)

Yep, lots of prop aircraft can generate that, and I think it's cool.

I think just humidity in the air, me living on the East Coast most of my shows are pretty close to the ocean so you'll get the moisture just from the ocean. It's a cool effect that's for sure.

Cheers Dave, does give a nice effect to the shot,never seen it before or never noticed it, was looking through my pictures found a shot of a Harvard from Duxford early morning very faint effect there too.
