Replaced my racing bike with a cross bike. Always out on a road ride, and see a dirt road, wonder where it goes... It's heavy, 26.5 pounds, but I ain't racing anymore so who cares? Rides great, disc brakes are cool. Quality of the frame and paint is pretty exceptional for a bike in this price range. And this one had to go: It was pretty sweet, but i never really loved it.

Wow a hybrid road bike, nice. Although, I'll never give up my flatland BMX bike (at least not anytime soon). I have a hybrid MTB for pulling the little one in the trailer though, I have it pimped out with my ipod on the bars and a portable stereo in the trailer. That way my 3 yr old and I can get down to our hardcore gangsta rap on the bike trail (J/K)!

Nooooo...a hybrid road bike is totally different to a cyclocross bike. Cyclocross bikes date back to the early 20th century! arthur666 Great looking bike, but get that steerer sorted hahaha

arthur666 Great looking bike, but get that steerer sorted hahaha Thanks! And, yeah I'm still in the shakedown period. Once I'm sure about stem placement, I'll cut it down. I probably will leave one small spacer on top. My creaky back = need for future-proofing.

Nice Burley Aurthur I have almost the same model but mines a little bigger/older (Two seater model) with plenty of room in the back for supplies. I've always wanted to get the front wheel for the jogger set up too as my wife really wants it.
I also have a Trail-A-Bike for when the little one gets a little bigger (going to miss the stereo then). I was in a fortunate position since my old boss and his wife had ailing backs so they gave us the trailers for free. Was a total score since I use the trailer a lot and I know the Trail-A-Bike is going to be a huge hit in a couple more years. Do you find it to be a great workout pulling all that weight too? 25lb trailer, 30lb daughter and whatever I can squeeze into the trailer storage + the resistance.
In any case they're great little trailers. I'll really miss it when she's too old/big for it.
I've got a bad feeling about this.....

Great looking bike, but get that steerer sorted hahaha That was my first thought as well! While we're at it, the front QR lever should be more flush with the fork, and never photograph a bike with the chain not on the big ring. Them's the rules. Pedantry aside, I like. The steel frame is particularly lovely.

Nice new cross bike, never seen those types of tires on a cross bike before, usually around here they all seem to have road tires, very nice! The trail-a-bike and burley trailers are both great and very flexible, you can even chain them together when needed, that's what I used to do when my daughters were little and I used to pull them on my utility bike (my 90s mountainbike converted to utility), one on the trailabike and one in the trailer: I miss them being that little Nice Surly too, I have a similar Surly LongHaulTrucker which I sometimes take on the gravel thanks to the fattish tires:

No way! Front QR must be swept back for an aerodynamic advantage. Actually, we always did them that way on the road in case you overlap wheels with a rider in front of you. Believe me, when it comes to bikes, pedantry is always appreciated! But you didn't mention the stem doesn't match the seatpost and the rear shift cable is in danger of strangling any small animals that I may ride by. Hey kludger! That's a beaut of a LHT! I like the green. And gotta love the Brooks. It's a great bike. Had it about 4 years, and it was ridden almost every day for most of that time. I got mine in a more durable but slower 26-inch wheel version since my main use for it would be around town. But it quickly became the bike I rode for everything other than singletrack trail riding. Recently put some wide 2-inch tires on there. It's pretty much an old-school mtn bike now, perfect for getting groceries, riding to the bar and back, or loading up for an all day ride. Heck, I rode it from Asheville to the toip of Mt. Mitchel and back a couple of years ago. I have dreams of doing another 2 week tour one day, maybe when the kids are older. I'm sure I'll still have that frame years from now.

Nice, I have been researching new bikes for months and finally found something my wife and I would like as our entry level. Trek Verve 1 We're getting the hitch on the car this week and looking at the Swagman XTC bike rack and the Hollywood Sport Rider.

Kludger thats an awesome idea I will be daisy chaining when my daughter gets bigger, never thought about that until you posted that pic! Wife and I plan for at least one more kid so that will work out perfectly. And we can still rock out to N.W.A. on the bike trail!!!!

I think you will soon get the bug for off road biking when you start to get into the woods, hills and witness the best that nature can bring into your eyes, lungs, heart, mind and spirit! Here is my set (I do road and off-road):

Arthur it will be cool to hear how you like the disc brakes on the All City versus the cantis on the Surly... Those power of those disc brakes sounds pretty good especially compared to some of the low profile low braking power cantis that come on bikes these days (I replaced mine with classic cantis for power), but I've wondered if discs trade off the more power by being more finicky to setup or more sensitive to gunk and need to be kept more clean. Will be cool to hear. Yeah the Surly grows into the bike for everything, I bought mine mainly for a long day rides while lugging stuff, but over the years it's become a favorite for all my riding and I ride it more than any of my other bikes, even with the fat tires and heavy steel frame and all the extra weight I'm so at home on it that I default to it. LOL FlatLander, you can always lug around the NWA now and use the excuse that it's practice for the future passenger Nice bikes in this thread.
