I see from another post that one recipient of the new DVD box got the OEM version instead of the full version. Well I have just received my copy from a well-known site, £8.99 plus P&P. My trembling hands tore open the wrapping and rushed upstairs to the computer only to find..... the bloody box was empty. WOT NO CD-Rom!!

I'm not too gutted as I got it as a spare but its all a bit rum, particularly when the box was factory sealed. I spoke to the site that sent it and they tell me there is a 6 - 8 week wait now for a replacement even though I ordered this on Saturday and received it Monday. I suggested to them that the fact that they have now sold-out may mean a tidal wave of complaints are about to follow.

I don't know what the production site is up to but this exceeds the last balls-up I had when I mail-ordered F22ADF and even though the cd-rom was correctly labelled as DiD's F22ADF, the CD turned out to be a Barry Manilow record!

Actually, on further consideration, the Barry Manilow balls-up still exceeds the empty box shambles

Anyone else received an empty box from Ubisoft?

Recieved the demo from Amazon today for £8.99.AAARRRSSSEEE!!! Had seen the other post with a similar problem and was hoping that I'd recieve the correct one. Must have returned 5-6 faulty CDs in the last 12 months or so. Including BOB no CD in box. CFS2, back twice. once with 2 No1 CDs then with a scratched no2, and some other non sim ones.
Does anyone do any quality control for software houses? Asked in GAME and the guy on the till said they get loads of faulty CD returns.

The only release of Flanker 2.5 by Ubi Soft is NOT in a DVD case. Does this OEM version you are complaining about have the Ubi Soft logo on the packaging or was it released by Mattel?

Carl,

As I posted elsewhere, the front cover has "Ubisoft Exclusive" (but no logo as such)on the bottom left front cover, the back cover has the flying legend & SSI logos and the very fine print on the bottom says "c (for copyright)Ubi Soft Entertainment. All rights reserved. The SSI logo is a registered trademark of Ubi Soft Entertainment....."

A replacement CD turned up but it was only the OEM version. For £9 I'm not bothered (and anyway they did send a replacement for the empty box so I am reluctant to return it) but I would like to get the 2.5 version you are marketing in the US. I hope you do release it in Europe as the US outlets are not shipping to the UK.

Be bothered Dogsbody cause if this is a sham then think of all the others they have duped and then add the money up.

This sounds just a bit toooooo dodgy.

From what I've been able to see from the UK website that features this version of Flanker 2.0 (note that it is NOT V2.5) it is a release of an OEM version that somehow is being represented as a full version. Nobody came to me for a master so I suspect that this was something that happened early on during the Ubi Soft acquisiton. I will get the full story this week after I have had a chance to do some internal research. This was not an intentional deception. My guess is that whomever authorized the duplication of this version thought that it was a complete version.

Please note that the jewel case version that is available at Ubi.com and the US Amazon.com is a COMPLETE V2.51 and NOT an OEM version.

The suspect version is listed as Flanker 2.0 whereas the new version that I just re-mastered is titled as Flanker 2.5.
