I might be heading to Duxford for Flying Legends this year, with two students in the Cessna Corvalis. We'll be landing at Cambridge airport, but hotels seem to be booked full for the most part for the weekend. This is a bit of a last-minute thing, but has anyone got any suggestions as to where we could find a room? If not in Cambridge, then somewhere not too far away, and with the possibility to get to Duxford without a car. That is, by bus or any other means.
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Found a room at Holiday Inn Stansted. We'll be picked up by a friend of ours with a rental car, so that sorts out the transport. Sweet! Pics will follow

We have a backup plan - the train from Stansted to Cambridge, and shuttle bus from there.

take plan b! its better to go to Cambridge by train and then take the free shuttle bus to Duxford; also, try to be there as soon as possible, the later you arrive, the longer the queue in front of the entrance will be; concerning photo opportunities, there are plenty; the best are near the tank bank or near the other end of the opposite end of the area; depends on if you love shots of take offs or rather prefer shots of the birds while landing; and go for the flightline walk-lots of great photo opportunities, many of them with reenactors looking forward to seeing your pics then, I would have loved to head for Legends, but we have settled in for the Autumn Air Show in October instead to round up our airshow year; cheers phil
