The Fighter Collection, Eagle Dynamics and Digital Combat Simulator have announced they are joining forces with Kinney Interactive and will be building all three models of the F-35 for integration into the DCS World, starting with the F-35A Lighting II.

The family of F-35 aircraft will include complete standalone campaigns, training missions, and a variety of instant action missions. In addition, Kinney Interactive will be developing and integrating full carrier operations, including the CVN 78 and LHA-6 for the C & B versions.

Pilots interested in getting involved with pre-order incentives, access to Operational Evaluation, Beta, squadron affiliation, Kinney Interactive high seed server access, and exclusive interaction with the Kinney Interactive during the development period of the F-35 aircraft should go to Kickstarter and sign up as a founder and or Test Team Member today.

CEO and Developer David Kinney commented, "I am delighted to be developing this combat simulation module add-on for the DCS World combat arena, one that is well established, and growing. I have for some time wanted to provide the combat flight simulation community with a highly accurate simulation including photorealistic graphics, both inside and outside the aircraft. And equally important, I want to provide accurate flight dynamics that will give the pilot as real an experience as possible. I am looking to develop a range of aircraft that are in line with the customers preferences, and maintain the high standards of other DCS aircraft. This is truly the first step in bringing 5th generation air combat to the to the combat flight simulation community".

DCS World is a new, free, combat simulation. DCS World provides a free-to-play Su-25T ground attack aircraft with unlimited online restrictions. Online DCS: World includes friendly and enemy forces that can be controlled by other players or AI air and ground units. The purchase of additional DCS modules allows the player to have careers as pilots of the A-10C Warthog, KA-50 Black Shark attack helicopter, P-51D Mustang, or armor vehicle commander. You may read more about DCS: World and its modules at: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/

More information on Kinney Interactive and the DCS F-35 can be found on the Kinney Interactive Web Site.

WOW, interesting! I really want a F-35 study sim and this seems to be the opportunity for that.

But I have my doubts about funding an addon on Kickstarter (or any other similar way). Regarding addons I prefer to purchase them when they are finally in the market.

Why not? You pay $28 for a copy at the end, but you support not only the industry, but a guy with a pretty darn good track record of pulling through and making quality products.

I could understand doubting FO and other pie in the sky stuff (Jet Thunder), but this is only an add-on and it is being lead by a guy with a great track record.

Just brew coffee at home for a week and you won't feel it.

Surely 75k is not enough to develop a DCS flight sim.

what's wrong with planes who are already in service or older planes?
i would like a good sim with F-14A/D, Sea Harrier, F-18C/F, A-7 Corsair II,...

i also doubt there is enough good information available for the F-35, does this information actually exist? the plane is just a prototype...

+1

Full credit to the guy, but I'm not that interested in a sim of the F-35. I'd much rather fly a historical or in-service aircraft. One with history, reputation, known quirks etc, but especially one that has enough real world data and unclassified pilot annecdotes to actually base a sim on!
