Hey everyone! Here goes the latest update of the dev's blog - Update XXII(click). Today Loft shares details about offline modes and features allowing players to create their own missions.
And, traditionally now, a video - this time with LaGGs!
Very very nice. Are both crates AI by any chance, especially in the second sequence? I'm only asking because they do not show the usual "synchronised turn" behaviour from other sims where AI planes turn at near-perfect same rate and angle while on patrol.

Would you know if IL2:BoS will avoid having these synchronised AI turns? Not all pilots react at the same time, some may goof up their turn a bit, a little too heavy on the elevator, no enough power to sustain a hard turn, and so on... All depending on AI skills of course !

True, it's just that i wonder if we'll se online stats everywhere when playing solo, or a more "role-flyer" friendly GUI, for those who prefer. Hopefully i'm just overanxious.
The whole Eastern Front in WWII was one big dick contest between Hitler and Stalin.

With a bonus for the one who played on hard mode ?
Promotions, medals, monetary bonuses, plum assignments, new planes, new weapons etc. being assigned to pilots or units who showed the most skill, bravery, sacrifice and success is nothing new to the world's air forces in war time.

Sounds like War Thunder.
I wonder what the commercial angle is. It seems there must be one? Don't get me wrong, I know 777 is a for profit company, just wondering how this stats driven campaign 'progress through ranks and aircraft ' etc factors into the business model.
IE if I can't be effed earning my way to a Lagg3 campaign by hours of flying full real full hard, can I just buy the blinking thing?
I gave up on War Thunder because the only way to get into a P51, which is all I wanted to do, was hours of mindless grinding.

I agree with your feelings about Warthunder, although I don't think, BOS will take that route. I would like to see a hybrid of the old IL-2 and ROF business plans.
I have Warthunder installed, but I have absolutely no hours flying it. I initially tried to get interested by flying some offline missions, to get a feel for the sim, but the mission time limits, Biplanes, and mostly "locked offline missions" quickly had me exiting the game. I still start it up to download new updates, check to see if any of the offline missions are unlocked, then shut it down. Eventually I would have spent much of my time flying online, but I always like to play a sim for a month or two offline to get a feel for the aircraft etc, and see if the sim interests me enough to venture online. The SimHQ gaijin forum is dead, so I would assume most of the IL-2 crowd is not that interested in Warthunder aswell.

will the campaign respect the course of action? like the russian pilots being sitting ducks at the beginning of the Barbarossa invasion? will it be possible to bounce IA? to strafe an airfield full of russian planes? to order or to see defensive circles (a common tactics during WWI and WWII but NEVER seen in a simulator)?
Will the graphic (amazing) improvement will apply to BOB too?
