Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone had a fix for this. Landing your Flanker from the external view being directly behind your plane, you have almost know indication how much power you have. Instead of watching your beautiful Flanker, you have to watch your airspeed to see if you have applied the right amount of power, instead of getting ANY audible ques. Even at idle, there should be some sound coming out of those tailpipes, but in this game, with zero throttle, you get absolutely no sound whatsoever. Fix anyone?

Thanks,
Mark

Flanker is designed to be flown from inside the cockpit. As a result, the sounds are from the perspective of a pilot, sitting in a 1.5 inch thick plexiglas bubble, 60 feet from the engines, while wearing a 9lb crash-helmet with headsets that are soundproofed for external sound. Inside the real jet, it is as quiet as in the "game".

Granted, the sounds may be realistic from inside the cockpit, but why can't they be somewhat realistic outside the cockpit. Many of us like flying the long routes between waypoints from the external view. Hell, why even have the outside view? They could have saved a crap load of coding and time if all SSI did was create an accurate cockpit experience. I guess all I'm saying is that it would be nice to be able to hear the throttle variations while landing in external view mode. It would just make it more pleasurable for me, and probably many others.

One thing about F2 is the engine sound in external views depends on your angle. Rotate so you're looking at the front of the plane, then rotate to the back. The engine sounds change and get MUCH louder.
