Four new mechs just been announced and all were unseen mechs:

Thunderbolt, you shall be mine!

I'd want the one with the full set to get the assault, but not for $80.
I wish they would put out more non-humanoid looking mechs, these are a little dull.

So does this open the door for the MARAUDER!

S

I am a little reluctant to do this with a release date of oct 15 and NO MC. I will have to dwell on this.

interesting. the inclusion of premium time makes it a bit easier to swallow, but it's still a bit much. might go tier 2 to get the phoenix hawk however...

I supported the Founder's to help get MWO launched, now that they are going I already spend a good amount on MC and I'm not interested in buying more Founders mechs.

Thankfully the Marauder isn't there and makes this decision easy biggrin

For 80$ it's a fantastic deal. 12 mechs, 4 of which have bonus's, 12 mech bays, and if you get it before july 25th, 120 days of premium time. Hoooly crap. Yes.

Looks cool. I don't think I'll be participating, but cool none the less.

If they do something like that for clan mechs, I might consider one of the lower priced ones.

Been waiting on an MC sale.

This might be the way to go...

Very tempted.

Compared to the fact that Rise of Flight has the Camel on sale for 1.99 (about the price of buying just the mechbay)... it isn't that good a deal (considering the Camel's fidelity)!

That said - if these things were half the price - I'd be tempted (same goes for hero mechs).

I liked the founders program method more. At each pay level after the first (started with just premium time and mc) you added a mech purchase, more mc and more premium time . You got to pick the mech was the key part. Unfortunate how I wouldn't want the lighter two mechs, but would have to pay for them.
Maybe the other two will come out in a weekly sale sometime.

That's the biggest turn off to me. I would go for the $20 package if I could pick the heavy or assault (or maybe even the medium). But I have no interest in buying a light right now.

Saw more analysis of the value/cost of Phoenix Overlord:

Quote:
What the Phoenix Overlord would cost normally:
HEROES (Based on current 75 MC per ton pricing)
Hero Locust = 1500 MC
Hero Shadow Hawk = 4125 MC
Hero Thunderbolt = 4875 MC
Hero Battlemaster = 6375 MC
4 Months of Premium time = 10000 MC
12 Mech Bays = 3600 MC

Things I Have no Choice but to guess the rough value on:
2 Locust (At 1000 MC each) = 2000 MC
2 Shadow Hawk(At 1750 MC each) = 3500 MC
2 Thunderbolt (At 2125 MC each) = 4250 MC
2 Battlemaster (At 3125 MC each) = 7250 MC
4 Badges (At 500 MC each) = 2000 MC
49,475 MC

If bought in the popular $29.95, 6500 MC chunks that would be $227.97
If bought in the giant $99.95, 25000 MC package that would be $197.80

Also saw mention that there are Clan variants of each of the Phoenix mechs... interesting... 4 weeks to think about it.

If they had any MC as part of the packages it would be a complete no-brainer and I would jump at it right away. I am still leaning toward the $80.00 one. I haven't spent any money on MWO for a bit, and should have some birthday money right before the deadline. Maybe I will get extra for it being my 40th wink

I noticed as well that at least 2 of the variants are listed as 'clan tech upgraded' over on sarna.net.

They released the artwork for the Shadow Hawk today. Looks nice.

Also, looks like you can pick when to activate the premium time which is great, I won't activate until the Fall, as I probably won't get as much game time in now over the Summer.

Will probably wait until the last minute to decide.

Cheers!

Will come quicker than you think. I'm trying to slow down time as the week passes by so quickly.

Anyway it's better getting all those variants at once in Oct rather than waiting for the staggered launch of the normal variants... Battlemaster for January. Now that's ugh.

The 25th is fast approaching. I am still on the fence for this one. Has anyone picked it up?

I think I'm done spending money, until I see some new maps and gameplay modes.

Have to agree. Still love the game, but I need to see a persistent war, clans etc before putting in more than some premium time. Just too much to drop at once. I want to play mechs some before paying for a hero version. If I could sell back my Heavy Metal I would. Probably my Yen Lo too, I prefer the Flame, Firebrand and Misery so much I never touch it.
