I'm probably going to need a new user name. I'm not too interested in Xbox One.
I like to rent, buy and sell used, and I'm tired of paying for Gold.
I'm leaning PS4 at the moment, but I may just go back to PC.

A bigger factor than the "news" on the X1 is that the Xbox/360 have typically had a far better library of games for my taste. Far better controller. Better online gaming. I don't care about used games and I'm online with 10 devices at any one time, so I'm not worried about that. I'm not sold yet, since I haven't seen the console selling games yet (for me) but most likely if those games pop up, they'll be on the X1. If those games appear on the PS4, I'll go that route and get an aftermarket controller when they start showing up. Either way, probably nothing until there's a decent number of games and console updates next Summmer. If nothing shows up, I'll just upgrade my video cards to a new, single high end card.

One reason I'm liking the PS4 is the new controller, have you seen the comparison from old to new?
It's much more like the 360 one in size and shape.

It's much more like the 360 one in size and shape. Only seen pictures and the analog sticks are - again - next to each other, which was a royal pain on PS3 if you have big hands.

Yeah I know all about that, I have huge hands and the tiny ps3 controller is why my ps3 never got used much. The new controller has sticks that are farther apart, shorter and smaller heads on them. Here's a good look at the changes:

You were right, that's definitely a big improvement. Still, I like the odd stick offset on the 360 controller, somehow makes things more stable and feel even larger. I like how they reshaped the top of the sticks to concave instead of the smooth dome. Didn't they have a bad habit of using the top shoulder buttons for triggers instead of the bottom? I think my favorite is still the Xbox S controller. Nice heft to it and the triggers were set further back under the controller and really had a "trigger" feel to them relative to where your hands were holding it.

For anyone interested in getting the X1, Best Buy has a decent financing deal. 18 months no interest on their card storewide for any purchase $429.99 and over. It's perfect for the X1 Day One edition. Works out to about $30/month. Makes it a lot easier than paying the whole lump sum. Also, they'll ship to the house for free when available. Don't know if I will actually receive it the day of launch, or that week, but it won't really matter to me. Not having to stand in any lines will be worth it. As far as the PS4, you'll be able to get the same deal if you throw in a game with the purchase. Again, they will ship for free. BTW, with my confirmation of purchase via email today, they also notified me that the expected release date is 11/30/13. Anyone else hear actual dates yet? Wonder if that is just an estimate on Best Buy's part. Just a heads up.
Nice hat, looks good on you though.

11/30/2013 is playing it safe, Since they only know it was November '13, they can say it's the 30th, that way if it comes out before, it's early, where as if they say it's the 1st and it doesnt come out on the first, they dont get slammed.

Like many others, I will wait ~2 years, maybe more, to see how things shake out before I get either one.
I have no burning need to play any of these games OMG RIGHT NOW when they come out. I will admit I bought the 360 when I did because SW: TFU came out and it was only on consoles. Of course, about 18 months later it showed up on PC...and via Steam sale I got the Ultimate Sith edition that had all the DLC for the original for LESS than it would've cost me to buy the DLC for it! That blew my mind.
Oh yeah, and my big screen TV is not the ideal place for me to play games. I have a room (the "office") with the PCs in it and dedicating it to gaming at night works fine. The TVs are in open rooms and gaming after the kids are in bed is too noisy (they're 2 and 4), and before they're in bed it's frankly too impossible, so I only use my 360 in those rare cases when I'm at home and my children are not.
