Sounds promising! Don't forget to link in the forums - you guys are still far behind Lothar-of-the-Hillpeople, when it comes to offensive self-marketing.

Just to announce some progress and decisions, as you all know we are a very small team and have decided not to endorse an 'official forum' outside of our normal OBD website which exists for Official Announcements, Updates, Statuses, Downloads and Support channels, for WOFF (P4) going forward. It is basically too time consuming for us to develop, support and deliver a product and moderate an 'official forum'
We will be opening up new WOFF oriented content on our Official OBD website in due course.
WOFF development continues apace and once the new website is up and running more regular announcements will be made on our site.
Sincerely
OBD Software Winding Man, you live in Jo'burg? I've been in your fair city twice in the last six months, both business trips. I enjoyed some excellent cuisine while visiting. Curiously, my company insisted that I be escorted by armed plainclothed security. They drove me everywhere. The only time I got away from them was when I slipped out the back entrance of my hotel. My colleagues in Jo'burg kept babbling on about major crime in the city, that I had to be careful. I found their caution annoying. I walked into one shop and before I could speak a single word, the young woman from behind the counter immediately said "you're not from around here, are you?" I was astounded. I was wearing a normal business suit. How did she know I was an American?

Let me take a stab in the dark! She couldn't see the buldge in your suit where you would be carrying a piece!! I don't know about that but I had a funny feeling people could tell I was a foreigner. When walking about, my security did their best to be close but out of sight. As soon as I finished lunch at one interesting outdoor cafe and stood up, my three security chaps appeared out of nowhere and surrounded me. They acted like the Secret Service. Was there really a danger that I might be kidnapped?

Not sure what word you mean, Jim? We say here, that the Americans are talking more broadly than the British people. Americans also are rolling the "r" more.

Honestly, I never heard of it. Never heard any really insulting stuff about the American speech. "Chewing gum boys" maybe - nothing worse. Not where I come from. But I can't speak for the Bavarians here.

Regarding accents, I find it interesting that the Germans I know who I've heard speak English have British accents. My buddy in Bonn sounds like Simon Cowell! Never heard of a German who talked with a British accent yet, mind you, a lot of Germans speak better English than some of the English people do. The number of different accents for such a small country is quite amazing. Listen to err, people like me, from the North East of England, or dozy sounding wallies like Ozzy Osbourne or somebody with a Cornwall accent, I doubt if any German sounds like that.. Back on topic... When is this bloody sim coming out?

We can only guess - but we can win a prize with our guess, over at CombatAce. The closest guess will win the new "Wings over Flanders fields" (once it will be released) plus something else. There are three prizes. Can't get in there right now, so I can't provide you with a link.

LeazesNDR, no, nobody sounds like Ozzy. They sound like Germans speaking English. But, for instance, they'll pronounce "Glass" as "glahs," say "lift" instead of "elevator," spell words with too many "u"s, etc. Obviously, influence via the close proximity to England. Which is fine! I hope to God to never hear a German say "ya'll." As far as the sim release, that topic is It'll be out when it's out. And, I can't get into Combat Ace either, Olham. Gee, I wonder why OBD--nevermind.

...they'll pronounce "Glass" as "glahs"... Yeah, well - is it not spelled "glass"? ...say "lift" instead of "elevator," Pure efficiency. We say "Handy" instead of "cell phone" - I wonder where that comes from? Do the British use "handies"? Or is it our first own Deunglish creation?

Yes, glass, not "gloss"! It's just we Americans speak through our noses. One of my favorite pronunciations is by my friend in London, who pronounces "Hurricane" as "Herkin." I love that. Cell phone here is usually just "cell," but more and more it's just "phone." Speaking of Herkin... Great picture of the Lady which really shot the bombers down! Yeah, pronounciations... My school English failed me completely when I asked a friend in London for "Worcestershire Sauce". We Germans would really spell it "Wor-ces-ter-shire", but when he finally got what I meant, he said: "Ah, "Woostersher Sauce"! Or Birmingham - Germans spell it "Bur-ming-ham". The citizens there say "Beermingim". American seems generally easier to understand for Germans than the varying British slangs. But in school we rather learn a kind of "high English". "This is a hat. The hat is black." First really difficult exercise for German tongues: "the" - not "se" nor "ze"; but "the" - very hard. We don't have that tongue-tip-sound in our language. Older Germans still speak English like this: "Ze Dsherrmans vill vin ze warr!" Obviously wrong.
