I'm still dealing with the same old problem over here. I can not get this baby to run smoothly. It use to run smooth as ICE before!
My specs are: P3/600, 384 mgs PC133 ram, Geforce DDR and 94-96% of my system resources are free. It use to run very smooth, but now it's JERKIN all over the place. Can anyone with similar specs or same card offer some advice on a GOOD set of drivers for my card?
The jerking is consistent throughout the whole game. It's not just happening at takeoff, but all the way through. Probably some of the older 5.__ drivers would work better, but I would like to know what is working for you other Flanker people out there.
Thanks

Never mind!!! I finally figured it out. I lowered the anti-alaising slider and switched to 16 bit and now she is purring like a BIG CAT! This sim is by far my favorite and to think it's about to be "PUMPED UP" with the 2.5 upgrade. The sense of speed in this sim is completely unmatched. Can you tell I'm happy to be back in the saddle of my Flanker!!!! 1

I use 10.80 driver version, from nvidia, they tell ya that this is kinda beta driver, but I have no problems whatsoever, and my performance jumped over 70% higher in OpenGL benchmarks. FSAA is at maximum and my card is a geForce 256 with 16Mb SDRAM (so yours should be even happier) You can try it, if it doesn't work, you switch back, but if it does you'll love it

default terrain simply because I started flying on Flanker very recently, got it in the and of last year (I know, shame on me, but, let's say better ever than never ) and to make it more complicated, my pc gave me some white hair... now, since three or four weeks it's all ok, fine... but just starting to fly it... not yet any patches installed, except the 2.03

another thing, I use the KA7 motherboard, my SDRAM runs at bus+pciclk speed, which is 115+38=153 mhz, maybe this helps compensate the lack of RAM on the card (actually tried it at 119/40 mhz (159 for the RAM), it was stable, but I didn't like my proc at 48° C idle, now it's at 39, and it's fine for me (needed 2.0V to make it turn at 952 mhz)) Nice your screenshots, there are many patches online, could you guys tell me which are worth installing? (with a screenshot it should be easier to see what it does really )

You know, I was going to post the same thing. With the 6.50s Nvidia drivers, I experienced strange behavior in F2. Now, I would'nt have called it a jerkiness, but it was more of a "swelling." Like, it would run fast for 2-3 seconds, then it would slow down by 50% for another 2-3 seconds. Looking at the FPS counter, it turned out that while the average frame rate was around 30 or so, the current frame rate varied so much and so fast, you could'nt even count it. It was like 7 to as high as 40FPS. Well, went to the new 11:00 first, but did'nt like them (they were made especially for Elsa cards, I found out), so went to the 10:80. At any rate, with both driver revisions, the "swelling" of the frame rates dissappeared. However, it seems like the FPS are now pegged at 25, usually, but with it occasionally going up in the 30s in the exterior views of other A/C, other than your own SU27/33. I thought it was very strange, but I see from the screen shots above, that I'm not the only one. Nvidia, IMO, constantly puts out crappy drivers that are below the standards of their excellent chipset. I remember 2 driver revisions in a row would not allow me to play "Shogun," after it played fine before. Now, BTW, BoB is even more crappy, because it only seems to diplay correctly with drivers 6:34 & older. The ground is all tied-dyed looking.

Silverswift,
You described exactly what I was trying to articulate. It was very annoying to say the least. I have had no problems since switching to 16 bit and lowering my anti-alaising slider.
Has anyone got Flanker running smooth on 32 bit with similar specs as mine (see above)?

I have got F2 running fine at 1024X768X32bit using the 10:80 drivers. But, like I said, the only thing wrong is now the FPS are pegged at 25. The "swelling" did go away, though.
