People are really obsessed with the "end of (insert game technology here)"
Scully: Victim died of multiple stab wounds. Mulder: *throws her a file* Ever heard of the knife alien?

Is it just me or are the majority fed up with the industry trying to dictate to us how to game.I will always stick to PC primarliy and the Xbox 360 is fine for some sandbox games but I will not be buying one of these new generation Gestapo intrusion devices.I dont need a box for movies and chatting, never used those features on the 360 either. Its worthless to me.

What i hate is that the lion's share of video gaming is done on these second rate machines, meaning that game developers, who naturally favour the larger console market, only get access to new technology once every 8 years, which holds back the advancement of video game technology.
Even the PS4 and XBOX1 will only be comparable to an already obsolete, bare bones gaming PC when they come out. The potential is there for games to be far more advnaced that what most developers are coming up with, but that potential will never be exploited because the majority of the market insists on using inferior/obsolete technology.
...funny part is, console people actually believe their machines are better. Just last week i got into a drawn out argument on LiveLeak with a guy who insisted his PS3 was better than my system, and when presented with hard benchmark data (yes, it even went that far), he just dismissed it as meaningless "flashy hardware".
So now as far as i'm concerned, loyalty to consoles = stupidity. These people need to to be belittled and ridiculed into extinction.

How stupid can you be? "Xbox One And PlayStation 4 Could Be The End Of Video Game Consoles"
That's like saying "AMD and Intel could be the end of PC gaming!"
I read the article and it seems like it's the "end of" simply because free-to-play and tablets/DS/PSVita are eating into the console market! LOL!

I think you have the problem inverted. Second rate developers lazily adapt to ever increasing PC performance to compensate for questionable buggy code. Console developers have a fixed target to shoot for. The limitations of the console are known and unchangeable. This forces a clean and consistent development process that often results in a much better end-product. Games are made great by creative writing, not bleeding edge technology anyway. What i hate is that the lion's share of video gaming is done on these second rate machines, meaning that game developers, who naturally favour the larger console market, only get access to new technology once every 8 years, which holds back the advancement of video game technology.
