Guys here is a great commentator with loads of easy to follow tutorials to help the beginning WG player out (most videos are under 3 min in length.) You cannot play this game like other RTS games. There is a lot of depth and strategy under the hood just waiting to be discovered. He goes over everything from Deck creation to tactics to logistical management.

is there a key shortcut list?

also... no smoke for tanks/armor?

no simple command for birds just to circle and defend ground targets if enemy planes come? or SEAD mission to take out AA 1st...

probably there just didn't see it yet.

Omfg i hate the 2o min timelimit in the campaign in sp!
I am aware that some kind of limit is necessary for the game mechanic but a 20 min timecap is just plain stupid. I wounder whos the tactical genius playtesting the sp campaign!

There was no way I was buying it, SP in unfair with an AI that cheats and MP is awful with games faster than C&C!

I go by Capt Midnight in game.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

How is the skirmish mode? Time limit on that too? Probably all I would play.

Time limit is optional 10-60 mins or no limit.

BTW, in a replay is there a key to lock onto a unit so the camera follows it? Can't find it but thought I saw it in some videos posted...

BTW, heres a nice tank battle video post boy the ShackTac boys:

Looks good, action packed. As with other RTS games, difficult to appreaciate the zoomed detail of close in shots of all these good looking models in action and plan and execute orders at the same time- you still have to stay zoomed out to do that, kind of negating all the work done to make these types of games visually attractive.

Problem- what I don't like seeing are Hind helicopters hovering like that. Not only is that doctrinally incorrect, they aren't designed to shoot from the hover like that. Rather, the closer analogy is they behave more like CAS fixed wing support, which filled a gap that the Soviets felt they lacked- really like airborne artillery. They don't hover, they swoop in fast in large swarms, circle, saturate areas with rockets. They wouldn't hover and engage, they aren't gunships which behave like an Apache. Different flight characteristics, different design idea. Think of them more like a more heavily armed and armored Vietnam era Huey.

No one gets out of here alive.

I know I've hit the lock on view unit key before inadvertently. But I've been trying to find it again. Let me know if you do first, Chuck.

Here's one of the tutorial missions I did. This one shows off some of the air units.

Yeah, I'm enjoying it. I've played a few campaign missions and so far so good!

Cool. I bought the game today. Being a few decades behind the tech curve, I need to create a steam account so I can install the game over the weekend.

My word the game looks difficult, but I hope to cut my teeth against an AI on easy setting. Later try some coop multiplayer against AI or other teams. Though like the bloke said in one article, like him I will also likely be a deficit to my own team. hahaha

I am so terrible at this game.

Started the easy campaign, and with the 20 minutes they give me, I really can't get anything done. Is this the type of game where I should move up carefully, fortify, and ignore the timer so I can try it again next mission? Or should I be rushing forward and try and complete the goals in the 20 minutes allotted?
