Footage shows new ground explosion effects with frames-per-second improvements to the standard effects. Also shown are new bullet hit effects completely reworked + Me-109 glycol effect improvement plus other work. Finally a surprise reworking of an element introduced in our first patch.

All work is VERY early stages and currently more tweaks are being performed to keep the visual beauty of the new effects while also saving (or should that be increasing) frames-per-second.

This is really hard and time consuming work just to get to this stage and still we are moving forward with further changes to keep the beauty but also enhance the FPS.

Of particular note is a scene where you will see from cockpit view a bomber fly over a burning oil dump. If you watch the left scene and then the right scene (shown simultaneously) you can visibly see the stutter in the old (current) version compared to the WIP version.

Enjoy the update..it's been a challenge getting what you see ready for inclusion....and we're still not there y

Wow great update and great video. It amazes me a mod team in a few months can produce such high quality updates and features that the dev could could not match in years. Well done.

Beautiful work. Back when I was tweaking this sim I had the best luck with Kegety's smoke, dust and cloud mod. I see you have the smoke covered and hope you follow with clouds and dust because Kegety's do not work in the new versions of COD.

I like what you have done. I don't know that it will improve the frame rates but the rivers in COD - way to big and way to many. I know south eastern England was rather swampy, but nothing like it shows in COD. And the trees. I often see trees where they do not belong (in the middle of field). I think fewer trees and more of them clumped in forest would be more realistic and maybe improve frame rate.

Excellent update!Im still amazed by what has been done, what is planned and even what could be done in the distant future. This sim will get the place it deserves.I was a skeptic when I bought the sim but after the first TF patch I have not been able to stop playing and Im enjoying every minute of it.

It's really challenging because all the tools are having to be reverse engineered. There has been significant progress in the map-making tools and this bodes well for future Theaters of war and also fixing/tweaking/correcting existing issues.

It's a long road ahead of TF. We want it to be the Sim it promised to be and currently it really is slow progress......but there is progress. Keep the faith wink

Cheers, MP

Big improvement in the contrails, especially from a distance. I also really like the effects shown in the gun camera clips. And from the Blenheim view, the increased FPS is very evident. Pints your way lads.

What I found especially awesome were the bullet ground strikes. Looked just like gun camera footage I"ve seen for thunderbolts and mustangs attacking trains, ammo dumps, and airfields. The occasional farmer.

Actually if you think the 109 was done badly in 3.0, you should have said "Good! the 109 was really done badly in the original before TF first patch", as we never changed any effects in 3.0 wink

But I get that you like the improvement wink

Wow, you guys really have made some good progress! One of these days I'll have to reinstall this game and find some time to actually try it out again. Keep up the good work! salute

Hi Furbs, yes I know...train strafing...I'm like a kid in a Candy shop and the owner gave me the key while he's away for the weekend..and left his 18-year-old daughter there who promised not to be a bad girl and..........whoaaaaaaaaaaa..steady! Yes it's exciting!

Regarding the land detail, did you see the video with the new Satellite terrain work?

If that's not what your asking, let me know. Cheers, MP

Hi Furbs. No the footage was put together before that work was posted. There has been a lot of movement including the lights that can be seen still appearing are now completely gone, so no lighting pop-up on the ground. There is still a lot of work to do with other pop-up issues, due to the way it's coded frown

We know what we all would like visually, time will tell if we can nail it in the first patches, but we do understand that and many of the other most popular issues, so we are looking into it as we go along.

All I'd ask is that it took years for 1C to make CloD, it took a year for the community to break CloD (well I know it wasn't the community, it was the fact there were so many unfixed issues/bugs that never changed!) and we are only at the beginning of the process to try and make it the sim it should be.

All we can ask for is patience as we are a very small unfunded team, all doing this in our spare time and with no real reason to do anything other than WE want to create the Sim we hoped for and expected, just as much as you all do!

All we can ask for is just a little understanding and a lot pf patience. We are working on it and we hope we can create the greatest Sim.....time will of course tell wink

Cheers, MP
