The title says it all

I already have the Augpatch installed on my Pc but the installation fails on my laptop...
after I run the core file there is no pop-up of the updater.. am I doing anything wrong?

Try installing vcredist_whatever from docs\support\redists, and verify that DirectX is the latest (or at least from that redist folder).

I tried it but there are no changes... I still don't get the updater to pop up but thx for your answer

What is the OS? Did you install both vcredists? Try enabling Windows Update. Check the installation path of the core update, it defaults to wrong location (especially on x64).

I use windows 7 32bit and all my systems suit the requirements and yes I checked it it leads to the steel armor mainfolder in the correct directory dunno whats wrong with this :\

Try rebooting. Disable antivirus.

I have a problem starting the game on my new laptop. I remember it worked on the old one, but I don't remember if I needed to do any workarounds. Anyway, I have the GamersGate installation, install it, install the 581 core update to the same folder, but when I actually run it, nothing happens. I tried installing it outside Program Files and I tried disabling the antivirus, but nothing helped.

Is there some kind of a log file somewhere so I can check what error is reported? The system is with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and Nvidia graphics (314.22 drivers).

Yeah, I did now (earlier I only stumbeld upon those in the \EXTERNAL folder), but it didn't help. The loading icon shows up for a few seconds and then nothing. I guess some log file location would help

Can't really explain this, but the game suddenly started working. I haven't even restarted my computer, it was on the whole time. Maybe I've only added my Creative X-Fi notebook card and drivers (without a restart). By pure chance, I decided to give the Steel Armor another go and (much to my surprise), it started loading. Weird.
