I've now got the website and score pages back up but I've had to reconfigure the way my internet connection resolves DNS addresses to do so (still haven't tried updating ROF). I guess my ISPs list is still out of date but will eventually catch up, here's how to change the setting if you want; Tutorial: Speed Up Your Web Surfing with Google DNS or OpenDNS. (I make no recommendation to do this, just providing the info on how to. You might be better to leave well alone and just let your local DNS lookup catch up)The website only works for me using the Google Public DNS IP address The default and OpenDNS IP settings bring up an error page for the ROF site.

With my network connection set as above to use the Google Public DNS server address, I've just updated to the latest version, logged on to the master server and logged on to the Flying Circus server, all ok.
With the network connection set back to default, I can't logon to the master server.
I'll continue using the Google Public DNS server address for now.

And I have no idea how to do that anyway. Im just a regular default PC user. All I can say is that this whole idea of going onlien to play offline shows it's faults now...and the Devs saing "it's a third party problem" is a slap in the face because its for sure not the third party that demand going online to verifie after every update. game is fubar for days now.

Because it works and you can do it for yourself and not wait for someone else to do it for you. Just a thought...
I was able to take the update fine last night and I have my home PC setup this way.
The road less traveled is filled with fewer needy people.

Why should we do all those "tricks"? IMHO 777 should take care of this... Absolutely right mate.. having to do work arounds instead of the game just bloody working should not be down to the user, who in a lot of cases has put a lot of money into his hobby and expects that it should work when he wants to indulge in it. Not sure how it all boils down to some 3rd party who for whatever reason, is now stopping perhaps hundreds of people from playing their game... it's certainly not cricket! I know Jason and the 777 team always do their utmost to ensure we have a smooth ride, so hats off to them, but this reliance on an outside agency or whatever that is stopping many from enjoying their hobby is absurd. Hopefully this will be a never again occurrence, or maybe it's an achilles heel of the system they use in Russia, I have no idea, but it's damn annoying, not only for us, but a pain for the dev team too!

Or any other sever other than what my ISP is using? Just doesn't make sense to me, but then again I'm not to tech savy with those kind of things! I'm just not sure about the comfort level of this!

Guys,
I do not know why the site went back down as it was reachable again late last night PST or why your can't reach Master Server. I just woke up. Obviously there is a DNS issue as I explained yesterday. When I know more I will post.
If you can reach it with this DNS work around try it for now while we work on a permanent solution. No one is asking you to do 'tricks' on a permanent basis. What we hear is that the nic.ru system is under attack somehow and their reserve system can't handle it. My guess is this is some kind of politically motivated denial of service attack thanks to the events in Boston. Just my guess. Fun.
Jason

O.K. at least you have a look into this. But DCS seems to have no trouble and they are located in Moscow too.
