In my imagination, when house fighting occurs, the bulidng will be transparent and show the internal structure of the bulding, just as Close Combat.

Why do it?
In the CC is understandable - 2D mode, a retractable roof if the soldier crawled into the house, that is, bypassing the crutches of graphics engine.

I doubt we will see transparent buildings or any combat in built up areas any time in the near future. From what understand the individual houses and buildings along with their different levels of destruction are very expensive to make.

I too would love to see combat in urban areas in this game even without the transparent buildings, but it looks like Graviteam is shying away from built up areas for battle site choices and prefer the less populated areas for combat simulation

like where Dane is going...... 1 building model has 3 level of details. PLUS 3 destruct models. Each destruct model needs 3 levels of detail as well... SO you are looking at 12 models for 1 house. If you need 15 differnt types of buildings at least.............. How many models is that? Plus doing LEGIT house to house fighting in a game should ONLY do that if it is to do it right. BUT with that said......I like the transparent windows where you can sort of peak in at guys shooting each otheer point balnk in hte face as with some of the buildings currently in GTOS. biggrin

Yes, but it does not tell us of its necessity.
Any such strange features, they spoil the atmosphere of the game, in fact destroyed any level of realism.

I was never a big fan of the transparent buidings and the camera looking in tanks in combat mission either. It destroyed the atmosphere for me also. That and the graphics always looked cartoonish and amateur.I guess if you want to micro manage every single aspect of a game you have to make some major sacrifices.

I agree that micromanagement in Combat Mission it too specific, players are not role of NCO, they should be role of battalion commander.

But I suggest that those animation of infantry should be improved, it is wierd when infantry go in or out buildings, vehicles.

I think motion of soliders are inflexibl.

They don't bend their arms and legs, sometime they even go straight through walls/doors/windows.

Yes it come into houses throught doors and windows. It is not clear what relevance to this has to the animation.

I think Rostov means..........no animations for mounting/dismount vehicles, climbing over fences, climbing through windows, openeing doors. That sort of stuff. Of course if people realise that doing those sorts of things equals months of man hours.....which means MONEY. AND that means you get fewer vehicles, DLC's, and fixes to games. While the eye candy would be welcome, I would prefer more vehicles, bug fixes, DLC's, and campaigns.

Of course no, we dont have a AAA budget, even CCC not have rofl .
Where we can take the animations for more than 100 types of vehicles and weapons and all sorts of manipulations with windows and doors. Do this things its absolute waste of very limited resources.
