I'm having a lot of fun with Hooper.

I don't play the campaigns much.
But have had hours of enjoyment playing Quick Battles with the two modern forces on the Angola map it's a real challenge and welcome change of scenery from the winter maps.

I may not always agree with the campaigns that Graviteam makes, but I do like all the toys and maps and they way they interact together during Quick Battles and have been able to simulate hundreds of different battles with the stuff that is offered in these DLCs.

Rather, a cross between SAR and USSR advisers version of events.
Unfortunately the versions from the direct participants in the conflict almost entirely fanciful.

But what exactly causes complaints?

That the dream of some of the players in Graviteam forum. As soon as a beta test, I'll show all in details.

Well, .. when 6 T-55s attack 12 entrenched (dug-in) Olifants, .. and the Olifants are all but destroyed, .. it seems a wee bit lopsided to me .. screwy

also, ..

SADF campaign victory seems to be based on the fact that the SADF must occupy Cuito Cuanavale, .. when the reality was that this was never the intent, .. although the Cuban propaganda etc etc .. maintain a victory as they kept the SADF out of Cuito Cuanavale. neaner

When I played the SADF Campaign, .. I won most of the battles throughout the six turns, .. yet still lost the Campaign. wacky

.. I mean, .. what does one have to do .. to win the SADF Campaign? sigh

I still play GTOS with Hooper, .. but, really only the Quick Battles.

Cheers
Tom

Well, manage Oliphants better. Lay out the screenshots and we see statistics for hits.

No. This town not present on the map, how this can be done?

This issue has already been discussed, I do not agree with you as before, since it is very far-fetched excuse. Nevertheless, in the operations or for UNITA nor for South Africa aims to capture the city is not assigned.

Yes, the operation for South Africa is done if you cut Angolan troops from the bridge (the actual target of the operation - or do you not agree?), and not spend a lot of fighting and defeating them. You yourself told me that South Africa did not want war with anyone, and now complain that the purpose of the operation to be performed rofl

I have read up on various aspects of Hooper...it is confussed mess in tems of history.

As to 6 t62 wasting 12 opliphants.........during day or at night? At night the Russian gear has advantage....it seems. And I mangled by OBJECTIVE bad too in it. Moved to slow. Although South Africian forces under my command did not loose much forces. Unita took brunt of KIA and WIA. The campaign seems to be designed.... You can win every battle but loose the war. Happened to me as well. It seems manuvering around on operational map and getting the bridge area is number 1 obj. everything else is #2.

Only BMPs over Ratel

12 Oliphants vs 6 T-55 at day -> result all T-55s knocked out, 2-3 Oliphants is damaged. If apply right tactics of course.

For SAR you must act quickly and seize the key points on the operational map during the day, otherwise you lose.
Fight with all Angolans that meet on the way, and the more systematically eliminate them by gound forces, does not make sense.
