Curious if there is going to be an F-111 in the DCS world? A deep tactical strike aircraft like the F-111 would be a blast to fly against an integrated defense network.

No F-111s have been announced so far. There will be at least one, probably two F-15Es however, which is the successor to the Vark.

Off to greener pastures

I'm hoping for a crew-served Tornado myself.

It'd be a lot of fun doing some high speed TFR runs in the Pig...and then slotting some enemy target with an LGB Toss.

I got a taste for tactical strike back in Janes F-18 and Mig Alley, and with all that DCS has to offer it looks like a great platform for tactical AtoG. In the modern era I enjoy it more than BVR AtoA.

So that said I hope some of the fine strike platforms (F-111, A-6, Tornado, etc.) make it into DCS soon.

Agreed, Tarnsman. Strike is where it's at, though the pre-ODS doctrine of low level ingress makes for more white-knuckled fun.

I would you to see a DCS F111. They'd have to ensure you could do a Dump & Burn!

I'd love to see an A6 as well. Anyone else love the Flight Of The Intruder novel by Stephen Coonts? If you haven't read it then read it now! But don't watch the movie 'cause it is trash.

I too would love a tornado and F16,

I also think a F117 would be cool too, esp as I think most of it could be modeled realistically as you can download the pilots manuals from the internet, so I imagine only the actual stealth technology is classified still - Ie the paint/materials etc???

This book made me an aviation fan.

I really miss the deep strike, strategic strike face of the DCS. Su-24, F-111, Tornado, Jaguar. Does not matter.

Flying an awesome coordinated deep strike like in Digital Integration's Tornado... Blast

DI's Tornado was one of my all time favorites! I loved being able to work in the mission planner to set up a coordinated airfield strike, then climbing into the lead aircraft for the runway cratering task in the mission. Wicked!

When the 3rd party a/c start coming available, I am hopeful to feel that same thrill from DCS! salute

They say "If you didn't fail, how would you learn?"... I learn a LOT!

I'm glad to see you guys are on board on this one.
Strike missions ROCK!
Flying night strike missions in Janes F-18, with all the coordinated AI flights, the comms. The cool it takes to fly without active emitters while your RWR is beeping contacts, and to just trust your pre flight planning to deliver your payload on time and on target.
Then a night trap.

Man those were the best nights of simming ever.

This thread is so full of win...

Guys, should a deep strike plane being released, we MUST create a SimHQ Strike Wing...

DI- Tornado was a long time favourite of mine. The training sessions, the practice, the tension of TimeOverTarget...
Wowza I miss that.

About the Intruder Novel I LOVED IT so much that I bought it twice, in italian first and then FINALLY in english.
What a Blast! Yeah, movie compares pretty badly. Bad actors (beside Willem DaFoe) different storyline, crappy effects...

Still some of the best carrier borne real segment...

*SIIIIIIGH*

I really love that bird.

...and a bigger map. Like Iraq, Vietnam, Europe in the 80's, etc.

Anyway, when a Strike Wing come to alive I will be happy to sit in a WSO seat. :-)

Aah, nothing would make me happier than a new map...
Still, I'd be happy to approach a target far behind the eastern-most mountains from the west side of the Black Sea...
Vietnam style... biggrin

Just... gimme the planes...
