I relented and picked up Khamsin's recently released DHC-1 this afternoon and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. This thing feels like it really wants to fly, so much so that it seems more like a Flying Squirrel than a Chipmunk. biggrin Anyway, here are a few screens of the wonderful model in action. This is the civilian paint job and it comes with RAF and RCAF liveries that look just as good. Enjoy!

Here are a few of the Chipmunk in its RCAF livery, out for a gloomy flight around Victoria, BC. Gotta show the Canadians some love; they built the thing after all! smile

And lest we forget our fine British friends, here's the DHC-1 in its RAF colors. If you can't tell already, I really like this plane and would readily recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, prop-powered aircraft with that post-war flair. The model is beautiful inside and out and all of the switches, gauges, and levers are operational. The flight model seems very realistic as well: in those last two pictures you see me entering a steep dive, at the bottom of which I began experiencing some overspeed buffeting. It was very cool to see all the needles twitch back and forth in that kind of situation. All in all, a great add-on. If you've got X-Plane 10, check it out!

I must say your overcast in those last shots is very convincing. I can never get overcasts so fluffy and thick in FS9.

Thanks for your shots! I echo your sentiment about the Chippie; I have Rick Piper's for FS2004 and it has always been a favourite.

cheers

Thanks Scoobe. The Chippie's a good one; I don't think you'd be disappointed. By the way, thanks for the recommendation on the CL 300. That is a fantastic jet. Got something special planned to put it through its paces this summer. smile

My pleasure--glad you like them! smile As for the overcast, I must admit that I'm quite the X-Plane newbie, so I installed Sabach's Clouds Gold add-on on a whim. It's certainly an improvement over the stock X-Plane clouds, that's for sure!

Thanks for looking guys!
Cheers,
Tripp

Each of those pics and comments is like a rock falling on the roof of my resolve, and it's looking more and more like it won't be much longer before it breaks now. What's X-Plane's hard drive footprint again ?

Cheers

Nico

I would apologize for the inadvertent temptation, but X-Plane is a fantastic sim and deserves a much wider audience! smile As for its disk space, if you install all of the global scenery at once, you're looking at around 55-60GB I believe.
