So I was finally able to sit down and watch this all the way through this past weekend almost 40 years after it's release. I thought it not so bad an effort by Stanley Kubrick.
O'Neal was on keel as well. A good lesson on what happens when one squanders their good fortune.
Although it was a slow moving movie, I really liked it. Interesting character study. Some good music in it.
At 3 hours long, it might seem slow moving I suppose. I enjoyed the dry, somewhat sarcastic tone of the narration - and yes the music was a nice touch.

Yeah. That's point zero seven.
So I read.
There's something about high quality movies that were made in the seventies that intrigues me on occasion. I simply can't get the same vibe from anything else made thereafter. The Godfather is another I can watch over and over..

Barry Lyndon is fantastic. IMHO a very underrated Kubrick film. Not too many films made that took place during the War of the Austrian Succession.

I've been an avid Kubrick fan all of my life. I even like his films that are considered to be weaker by critics such as "Eyes Wide Shut". On another note, I've always been fascinated by the 18th century. The military history of that period, the music, the philosophy, the famous individuals, etc.

The use of which was discussed in an interesting documentary called "Dark Side of The Moon".
