I was thinking about getting woodland or tiger stripe for one or all of my Dragons. The PC Gamer skin can do some pretty cool stuff on the other mechs I own (CPLT and HBK), but it looks a little funny on my Dragons.

Should I do one time use or the full unlock? It's cheaper to buy the one time use 3 times, but then I'll lose it if I ever want to change...

Hmmm... or maybe I could just buy a couple more colors to use with the default and PC gamer skins...

And then I also need to consider the fact that I can't even see my mech's camo in game. Why am I painting it again?

(Yeah, I know it just comes down to personal preference. Basically just wanted to see if you guys found paying for camo/colors to be worthwhile.)

I just recently "Single Use" purchased both the Vagabond and Woodland schemes for my K2 and 5M respectively. I normally "Unlock" color schemes, but not every pattern scheme looks exactly the same on every mech varient, which is why I went w/ the "Single Use".

If I had a single favorite mech variant and no others of the same kind, I'd do single use. For stalkers, I unlocked. I think it's ridiculous that "unlock" doesn't give you free use on any mech though. I've got tiger and woodland, but for the few colors I've got, I like woodland.

Yeah I've only done the single use Phraken before with a mech and color scheme I liked and was pretty sure I would be happy with for a while, single use Phraken Atlas was MC125 while unlock was MC1250 and so I figure I can do a couple of single use and still pick it up during one of their 50% off sales and still come out ahead...

As far as colors I just have the PC Gamer ones and the basic ones that you can unlock with C-Bills instead of MC, I've been pretty happy with them for now.

I like painting my mechs to give them some uniqueness mainly the ones I use a lot and am fond of... really looking forward to being able to paint hero and founder's mechs too.

I have a particular scheme that I use so may not be the best to answer this question...

For obvious college FB obsession, I only need to get Tiger strip and the colors orange and blue....War Eagle!

Anyway, if one of my mechs is fun to play and EARNS the strips, it gets a one time purchase tiger strip pattern. All others just get the generic pattern. All of them are blessed with the colors though.

In general though, unless you are changing camo like my wife changes outfits its cheaper to do the one time purchase.

Thanks guys. I did the math and realized it was $.375 per mech to add a single use camo pattern, so went ahead and added a pattern to my most recent two favorite rides. I'm still pretty limited on colors. I might buy the basic orange at some point to add a little more variety.

Nice cammo!

Something about the catapult always seems to look great with cammo thumbsup

It's funny but in the past before MWO I always thought the catapult was a boring missile support mech with the highlight being it was the grandfather of the clan Timberwolf/Madcat which I love, but seeing and playing it in MWO has given me new respect for it as a great all around mech, probably the most flexible innersphere design in MWO.

I'm actually glad they started with innersphere mechs since many of them besides the Atlas I never paid much attention to with clan mechs being available in the previous games.
