Hi All! wave

I tried to create a new water. I modded two .dds files. (reservoir1.dds and SEAbottom.dds)
These two files must be in the water surface. I created two new.

New water mod download here: EECH_new_water.zip

NNnnice, thanks! smile I think the original water was made into small rivers,(close distance) and there looks better, your looks better on the open ocean.

have you tried increase wave length? looks great, but like it's lake, not sea.

Trying on and looking at the original pictures.

I wanted to make something similar. The wave animation is a bit easier to see, because the new sea texture is darker.

Good work. I think I prefer the look of the new textures, they're less repetitive looking.

As for having the lighting effect, it's not possible in the current graphics engine. Dx9 would provide new shaders and lighting (as is EE2), and there's other open source engines that could be used (like Ogre or OpenGL) but getting the game converted to them is a huge amount of work and probably not achievable without getting some ninja coders on board, and a great desire to do it.

Unfortunately, the water shine can not be integrated with the old graphics engine.
But still this is the best helicopter simulator! yep
The water waves is animated, and this is important. salute

Do you need to have the texture pack installed for this to work, or have Dynamic water enabled in eech.ini?

Hi Messyhead,

I installed it last night. I did have the latest terrain mod installed, but all I need to do was copy the two files in the zip to the relevant place on cohokum folder. When I think about it, I could have propably just unzipped them to there. I do prefer to do things in small steps anyway.

Must say it is an improvement on the default ones.

What I mean, is the terrain mod required for the water effect, or is the dynamic water setting required, or both.

I'm just wondering if this could be included in the All Mods build if someone opted to not install the terrain mod. I've not had time to experiment with it to see if it works without the terrain mod, or what effect the dynamic water setting has.

The water surface mod works with the newest EECH version (1.15), and all older versions if texture pack installed.
The texture pack necessary, because this includes the animated wave effects. Wave files here:
\Razorworks\cohokum\graphics\textures\terrain\water\ sea**.dds files and asea**.dds and river**.dds -these the animated wave file textures.

Of course the dynamic water enabled in eech.ini (dynamic_water=1). Otherwise this is the default setting if installed texture pack.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to base graphics and the new water together.
Still does not work, copy and paste.
