Can't you render at 16x9 and display at 19x10? Most monitors running at 16x9 is going to leave you fuzzy images.
The Jedi Master Didn't realise you could do that, thought they both had to be the same. The graphics weren't blurry but the text was and setting to how you said has fixed that so I'll stick with that, cheers

Never thought I'd ever buy(!) an alpha. But reading your enthusiastic comments I did - and I am happy with it! Everything is much smoother and I have the impression, that I can see the enemy soldiers better. In Arma2 I was often gunned down by (to me) invisible soldiers.
I hope, BI keeps up the good work and delivers also a good single player campaign and gets the AI squad teammates to follow your orders.
Now it is time to get DSL internet at home - with my poor wireless mobile broadband I will never be able to join MM / TT / SS...

So, the final game won't be $50 like arma 2 was?
Is it worth buying the game now and getting this apparent discount? Or have they talked about final pricing yet?

First impressions (not all inclusive, just what stands out):
Performance: Solid at this stage. I'm seeing better graphics and it feels faster than my usual Arma2/OA settings. Previewing from the editor currently take much longer than Arma2.
Infantry Movement: Excellent. My player feels light on his feet, able to move through and over terrain very fluidly. I don't recall getting hung on doorways while inside buildings. The stances are much easier to grasp than I expected. Still found myself unsure of my current stance, pretty frequently.
Vehicle Movement: Mixed. Vehicles feel like they have some weight and momentum. Even so, it's still possible to do 130 to 150kmh off road in the default vehicles, even catching some air from little bumps while going up mountains.
AI: Vastly improved AI spotting and engagement ranges. Most combat feels to be pushed out to 600+ meters when encountering AI in the field. Very common during my play session to be completely unable to see the enemy who was firing. I watched the AI moving and fighting through urban scenes pretty nicely, using cover, clearing corners, and stacking up on gaps before entering.
Since the factions are very symmetrical in tech, the nature of my mission design has to change. If you can see and engage the enemy (particularly without a scope), it's very likely they are about to fire on you.

I did notice the enemy AI have a slow reaction to shoot at you at close quarter battle somtimes. Also I have witnessed enemy AI run right past me in open country without noticing me, while I was standing in full view. Although their awareness has been improved at the longer ranges. The pistol seems a little underpowered with more than one shot in the chest required to kill an AI at near point blank range. I tested this on a civilian, so no body armor either.I do like the fact that one round on target with the assault rifles usually kill the enemy ,instead of multiple vital hits to achieve the same result. But very happy with whats been released overall.

Great* Graphics * Movement/ smoothness * Vehicle physics * In game customizable weapons (tho very limited in this alpha) * Overall look and feel Needs improvement / bugs* AI still messy: suicidal friendly and enemy AI running plain in front of me while shooting; OR insanely accurate AI * Getting shot behind a rocks / see through rocks * Cross hair is jumping when pointing at some objects (helicopters); seems to be a problem with transparency * Shadows are not realistic with night vision on * Gear management could be so much more intuitive: what about an MMORPG alike inventory view? * Mission editor still not up to par with today's standards (I'm always referring to the OFP:DR mission editor in this regard) * Long load time for previewing a mission in the mission editor; should be mem cashed * Bullet impact not visible when using non tracer variant, doesn't make sense to me * Too much chatter of AI team mates; even when you silence them or leave them behind Wishing for* An on screen quick dial to issue much used commands * Overall more modern user interface, after all these years this really needs attention... really * A real stealth engine, AI spotting is too black or white * Did I mention REAL STEALTH? * Stealth! * SSssSsSsstealth!! Very funny* Switching the previous G for gear with G for grenade? Very funny :P Overall very pleased. Can only improve.

AI still messy: suicidal friendly and enemy AI running plain in front of me while shooting My biggest beef is friendly and enemy AI standing up and exposing themselves in the middle of a firefight and getting shot dead. Or AI running around needlessly in full upright positions instead of taking cover properly during contact.

One thing i'd like to see improved is vehicle sounds. I know that sounds superficial, but i find when i'm driving a vehicle in A3, the incoherent engine sounds and tire sounds can be very confusing - almost telling a different story than what's happening visually.
