I had this idea while i was reading on Warsaw pact air defence;
Would people be interested in playing the simulation of an Eastern style Ground Control Intercept controller? Air combat from the pilot's perspective is more often simulated on the Western perspective because on a Soviet fighter; everything is automated! On the Mig-23 the pilot is basically the "auxiliary flight computer" and only has to make the aircraft take off. It's the GCI controller who sees the big picture, has all the information, formulates the plan and moves his fighters into position or designates targets to SAM sites. This would make an AWESOME game!! Far from being restricted to fighters; the entire Warpac anti-aircraft arsenal is available; Shilkas to SAM's to MiG's. Sure an interesting idea; that would be an epic game.

Games like that already exist. I have some I played around 1990.

And Eastern style GCI are less in control of what pilots do than Western stile AWACS.

True that, but i mean specifically Warsaw Pact/Soviet doctrine GCI; very few countries in the west have a true GCI network, they mostly rely on AWACS

Could you share some titles?

I'd have to look it up. It's been decades since I played them. And you probably wouldn't be impressed. They weren't very realistic.

Wouldn't such a game be very similar to say Harpoon?

Creating an 5S99M Senezh-ME "Realistic to the Switch" AVR simulator, where you would be able to control Radars, Fighters (MiG-21/23/25), and SAM systems (S-75/125/200/300) defending the same airspace?

Free SAM Simulator, "Realistic to the Switch"

(U-2 over Sverdlovsk, B-52's over Hanoi, F-4 Phantoms over the Sinai, F-16's and the F-117A Stealth bomber over the Balkans.)

This would definitely be an ULTIMATE simulator, especially when you would be able to switch directly to particular SAM sites and control them using existing simulator code thumbsup

Bit of a necro post, but did you make that? It's amazing, you've got to be a professional!
