Isn't a DLC of SABOW?

I think APOS is about WWII.

I know, but New Patch has not been released yet, my game is still titled with APOS.

I think DLC Operation Hooper is suitable for SABOW, because they have the same background.

Seems to me that it would be much easier to make this DLC for SABOW considering what equipment and terrain is required. I do realise there is the (massive) issue with the publishers but it is a shame that such a great game (in my opinion) won't recieve DLC such as this.

Is there not some way we could have SABOW go the same way as APOS? A simple name change?
Back when ARMA split away from the Operation Flashpoint name, and former publishers, they managed to do well. Considering DLC won't require packaging, shipping etc... It would be relatively cheap (correct me if I'm wrong (often am..) ) to produce DLC for the game under a new title (GTSA or something) and then the fans could be responsible for funding future DLCS.

/rant

Anyway, just a thought - I'm sort of hoping it was a typo and that this is infact DLC for SABOW but it's not looking promising. frown

With SABOW is more complicated, a simple name change is not enough.

Love the idea, first day buy for sure...and as far as I know this war has never been made into in RTS game great job guys.I understand some people want it for SABOW I own that game to, but I love the idea of in RTS set in this timeline and this conflict, hope you also do one for the Iran Iraq war and that this DLC get more add-on's if this DLC does well.

It's not an add on for SABOW it's DLC for APOS now called Graviteam Tactics.

I still don't understand why it's a DLC for APOS/gtos.

I think with the name change to Graviteam Tactics the new games will be able to cover a wide variety of battles from pre WW2 to the modern era.It looks like a little asset stripping from SABOW to GTOS is being presented first because most of this stuff from SABOW is already modeled and can be used in the GTOS series of games and it can all be brought in under the same Graviteam Tactics roof.

Soon a new engine is going to be added to GTOS and some WW2 campaigns and a pre WW2 campaign will offered with the new engine.
These are some of the campaigns for WW2 Andrey has discussed on the Graviteam forums that He said should be ready for sale some time this year.

Mius Front-Summer 1943
Nomanhan 1939-Russian vs Japanese in Manchuria
Sinyavino 1942-Leningrad front
And some other Summer battles in 42-43 around Kharkov.I don't have much info on them though.
And Flashburn and Krabb are working on Tunisia 1942

I like the modern campaigns just as much as the WW2 stuff and would like to see both areas explored within this game.I think there is plenty of room for both eras.

It looks like we will see the SABOW content DLCs first than the WW2 DLCs later.I'm sure over the long run it will be more WW2 than modern.I like both so I am pleased they are offering both.I'm suprised we are seeing SABOW content first though,I thought for certain it was going to be Mius front first or maybe Nomanhan.

I'll buy whatever they put out.I haven't been disappointed yet with any of their tactics games.I'm sure that they all will be fun and entertaining.and Andrey said that you can put all the content from either DLC on any map for Quick Battles so I can have Germans in Angola or South Africans in Volokonovka.

I am sure ww2 era will remain #1. But refreshing to have other stuff too. At least with hooper it is really not that much different in tactics and even alot of weapons are the same or direct off shoots to ww2 stuff. ZIS-3 and rpg anyone? The more modern stuff like at missles are early sorts. Not really all that more effective than old AT guns. Just lighter and easier to get around with. In Angola t34-85 was still being used. OH duh and recoiless rifles........... The at gun replacement of era. Alot of mortars and arty are even the same weapons used in ww2
